These Men Repented

John 8:9-11 and they which heard it being convicted by their own conscience went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself and saw none but the woman he said unto her, Woman, where are those; thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.

When should the babbling stop? Peter denied knowing Jesus but he repented and went on to build God’s Church that Jesus Christ set up in the earth on the revelation revealed to Peter by the Father of who Jesus was. What would have happened had not Peter repented? We don’t know but the work Jesus began in him continued past his flaws. God is not playing in this time, we better be careful of who we put our mouth on. He that is without fault cast forth the first stone at the sinner Jesus said concerning the woman that had been caught in the act of adultery. When he looked around all of the men were gone and he told her he didn’t condemn her either; go and sin no more. People have tried to lay the sin in their lives down but man constantly brings them up before them; remember when? Preach the Word as Jesus did and let the Word work; stop putting our two cents to it. The Word worked the situation and the woman got saved and too carried the Word. God wants us to see and know no man after the flesh.

We do as Job friends did, add our philosophy to what looks like or seems like. Job had to tell the brothers a thing or two. He told them in Job 9:20 if I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me; if I say, I am perfect it shall also prove me perverse. What did Job mean by perverse? Perverse means to deviate from what is considered right or good, wrong, improper, corrupt or wicked. It means we are perverted; turning from what is considered right. We misuse authority and lead astray others. We corrupt and tear down the things of God and people of God rather than build up. We misinterpret the Word to mean what we want it to mean rather than rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us that we don’t distort or twist the meaning to fit the purpose we intend to imply. These men really ignorantly thought they were doing the right thing debasing Job by bringing him down to a lower level; for he must have sinned to be found in such a predicament. He refused though to allow them to devalue his life; instead he maintained his dignity. Job instead forgave them, repented and prayed for them. He was restored!

David taught his son Solomon many things that he should not suffer sin in his life as David had. God taught David through the things that happened in his life and he warned his son to obey God. Did Solomon obey his father? Solomon in Proverbs 5:12-13 said how have I hated instruction and my heart despised reproof and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me! David told Solomon to attend to his now life learning wisdom and bow down his ear to David’s learned understanding of who God is. Regard discretion and keep yourself bound with the knowledge of God. Run away from strange women they will subdue you and pull you away from God. He was warned and didn’t listen but he did come to himself and left us a book of wisdom; supposed he would have had some of us in his day? We would have destroyed this wisdom we live by today.

Who are we self-righteous that have past Jesus in the things we can do or can’t do when it comes to forgiveness and respect to the work of Christ? Who have we called and who gave us the authority to call anyone in ministry? There exists in the Church world a religious spirit that must die if we are to see God. We can’t see God for the man that stands in our mirror and calls himself righteous; the only righteous one. Well guess what all of our righteousness is as filthy rags, there is none righteous but God. Why did Jesus have to come if we could walk righteous in this unrighteous way set by the enemy of our soul from the first man? Who do we think we are? Well examination is in order today! Get busy getting the mote out of our eyes and we will find out that it’s more than the next person plus the next. Who died and left us chief?

Although a man is called, he must submit to the call. God knows them and who they are; He made them. God is concerned that many will do good works and die and go to hell because someone stands in their way. How do they stand in the way? Have you ever found someone in a fault and couldn’t forget what they did? Did you talk about it? Did you pray for them? Or did you just mumble under your breath to someone else every time you saw them? Well guess what? God’s Word says if we find a brother weak among us, we that are strong should restore them in the faith. If we don’t do it this way then we too find our own selves weak in that same area. The strong ought to bear the infirmity of the weak. If there is no restoration, no forgiveness, and no repentance then we too have fallen short of the glory of God! Repent!

Psalm 1:1-2, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, not standeth in the way of sinners, not sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doth he meditate day and night. If we are meditating on the Word of God we are not habitually walking disorderly, unruly, causing disturbances and riots. We don’t violate the peace of others or the peace of God in his house. If we are meditating on the Word of God we don’t have time to entertain seducing spirits that seeks to disrupt our righteous soul. We are our brother’s keeper rather we realize it or not. We will give an account to God for the times we didn’t give the Word to a dying soul, for the times we intentionally used the Word for our own purposes, and when we stood before sinners and spoke things against our brothers and sisters that kept them from seeing God as they should have by watching our lives. David repented the day he should have been on the field with the men fighting instead of seeing Bathsheba. If we meditate on the Word of God we will be where God intends for us to be!

A servant is one who obeys God in righteousness; but now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22). They serve God in a special way and carry a title of distinction; Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel (Joshua 1:2). Servants keep themselves in a servile relationship with another to bring them into a knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not themselves; for though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more (I Corinthians 9:19). We volunteer our services one to another in love. We dedicate ourselves to the service of God and should never look at it as if we are doing something for man. Joshua was the servant of Moses and always knew that what he did was as unto the Lord.

We need to research our hearts and make sure what we are doing is for the up building of the Kingdom of God. If we are God’s we belong to God for his work, Will and Way. Colossians 4:1 masters give unto your servants that which is just and equal knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. We are to give as unto God and not man. The Scripture says we are not to muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn, and the laborer is worthy of his reward, I Timothy 5:18. Paul was a man that repented of much and God used him. No one questioned who he was in Christ as far as we can read. They knew him before conversion and after and they knew he was different; changed. Jesus changed his direction, his mission and his name. No longer was he Saul the hellinistic born Jew that martyred the Christians but now he was Paul the peaceful born again Christian that sought out the Gentiles to be saved and withstood the brothers in Christ to their faces that they change their ways.

These men, the Scribes and Pharisees; as Jesus was teaching in the temple at the Mount of Olives early in the morning came in and brought a woman taken in adultery and set her in the midst. They began to repeat the Scripture to Jesus concerning Moses and the Law concerning stoning one for such an act. It repented them that they had come to Jesus seeing they could not get him caught up between him and the Old Testament. Their motive and intent was to accuse Him it wasn’t about the woman. They changed their way after he didn’t answer their accusation and He went on to finish the work of Christ to get the woman saved. It’s time we the people of God get off of one another, love one another; not stab each other in the back and let’s go on to see what the end will be. We need to repent today each and every one of us and consider our ways.

When an accusation is brought to us we need to search out the spirit associated with why it is brought to us. Is it really to accuse the person it’s brought against or God? Satan is the accuser of the brothers. Is the way we take taking us toward Christ or away from Him? Are the things we do and say conducive to Holiness if not stop doing them or talking about what it is that causes Christ to be depleted in us. Hunger and thirst after righteousness, seek ye first the kingdom of God and then ask God to help us to stay repented. Call on the name of the Lord more and not each other, feel after God not the man of God. For whosoever call on the name of the Lord shall be saved; salvation is not of a man but God. Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to us. He is standing and knocking for us to repent today, hear his voice; open up and let him come real to us again. He wants to dwell; let Him.

The Spirit and the bride say come and let him that will hear say come. All that is thirsty come to the Lord and take the water of life freely. Repentance is only one step toward Christ. How many are our iniquities, transgressions, sin? He will make us know them today; when we come he will in no wise turn us away but will forgive our sin and make us clean. He will make us whiter than snow. Let us search and try our ways and turn again to the Lord. It’s time to consider our ways and ask God; Lord is it I the unworthy one that need repentance right now? Let’s examine ourselves and see if we are in the faith or not, it’s time to prove our own selves first then convert our brother. The day we hear the Word, harden not our hearts. Receive the promise of eternal inheritance today!
