The storms of life, rage all around
With great ferocity
Contrary winds, a battle ground
Beat down, relentlessly
Stand still my friend and trust in God
Through conflict, grief or pain
Hold fast in faith, for one day soon
The tide will turn, again
At times, still waters contradict
The bleak and battered shore
Deep imprints in the sand, depict
A storm, that's gone before
They point to violent, angry blasts,
The cruel surge, of life
Of peace, engulfed, of troubled pasts
Eroded hope, and strife
Another storm, infused with dread
Will one day reach the shore
Dark clouds will gather overhead
Just as they've done, before
But with each deluge, short or long
However God has planned
Life's debris will be washed away
And He will smooth the sand
On Tuesday, I emailed a friend and unintentionally waxed lyrical about the roller coaster of the past few months, likening it standing on the sea shore and bracing for the next wave ... it was rather late. She mailed back and told me to write it down. Turn it into a book, she said. This made me smile, as none of my real life friends bar one, are aware of my faithwriters exploits. I am not a writer, but last night when my brain was working overtime - I seem to function nocturnally which is not conducive to an ordered life, something I'm working on, I jotted down some thoughts in the hope that someone, somewhere, will be encouraged.
Yesterday evening, we looked at Acts 27. I was amazed and deeply encouraged by the message, but I should not have been. It was undoubtedly a word in season, from God. I may add a synopsis of the study, at some point :)
