Jesus said, 'A tree is known by its fruits', and that is so much true, thus also the Christian is known by his/her fruits, the sweetness reflected in one's behavior and the comfort he/she is able to deliver to this world for the Lord.
Paul asks us in Ephesians chapter 4 to walk worthy of our calling, however with certain attributes :
"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. " Ephesians 4:1-5 (NKJV)
If we have been called to be an Evangelist, we will not be perfectly doing it unless we do it with love, patience and all other Godly attributes, similarly its the same for every other blessed calling.
The Holy Spirit brought this wonderfully before us when He said through James :
"Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." James 2:17 (NKJV)
I may claim to be someone called with a great mission, however if I do not have the fruits of the Spirit, if I do not have the Godly attributes, I may be the biggest failure.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit are :
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. " Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
What I enjoy most about God is not His great works of awesome power, rather His perseverance and longsuffering, His bearing with me and forgiving me.
I pray that may the Lord make us like Him in everything, even to behave and react like Him with the best attributes in life.
