I never believed that in my life time I would see such a flagrant disrespect for God and His Word. I knew from my study of the Scripture that there would be a blatant assault against the sovereignty of God, and that even those once loyal to their Creator would fall away, but to see it manifested in such a bold and brazen way was not expected so soon.
I have noticed the response of the Church to these “end time” manifestations, and what I have seen and heard has equally surprised and bewildered me. Some Christians are quick to cast the blame for societal deterioration on the political arenas. Amazingly, they point the finger of accusation from the top down. In discussing spiritual decay, it will not be long for the name of OUR President to be interjected into the dialogue. As the blood pressure of these concerned Believers elevates, the more the carnal nature displays its ugly head. After a thorough exposure of OUR “Anti-Christ” President, there is a continuation down the political ladder from the Vice President and the court systems to state and local administrations. Following the exhaustive bombardment of the political systems, there is a focus on the Educational systems. The proclamations of blame are cast on the educators who have taken God out of the schools. (Do we really think someone can take God out of the schools? NO! He is still there, but we do not recognize His presence.) Societal issues such as Abortion, Homosexuality, Drugs, Crime, Alcohol, Sexual expressions, etc. are thrown into the equation. Christians continue their attacks against “those people” and judge them for their actions. When all is said and done, some Christians fall into depression and anxiety by wondering why God doesn’t intervene, or they become resigned to the fact that they will have to endure the chaos until the Lord comes to take them out of this mess.
Many Christians are giving too much credit for the destruction of society on the human factor. It is not President Obama, the Supreme Court, the Education System, or whatever else you want to mention that is causing an open rebellion against God. What has caused the assault upon God and this nation is SATAN! He is the Commander and Chief, he is the Chief Injustice, and he is the Superintendent. He is the “god of this world.” (II Cor. 4:4) He is the “prince of the power of the air.” (John 14:30) Just as Christians are under the authority of God, so the unbeliever is under the authority of Satan. Our battle is not with Satan’s followers, but against Satan himself; “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph. 6:12)
Whenever we attack the followers of Satan or those who don’t understand the principles of God, we have lost focus. When we have lost focus, we lose direction. When we lose direction, we fail to represent the Kingdom of God. When we fail to represent the Kingdom of God, we lose sight of God. When we lose sight of God, we only see circumstances. When we only see circumstances, we revert from faith to reason. Let us stay focused on God. The things that are happening are the fulfillment of God’s Word. Don’t worry; God has everything under control. Center on God’s love and continue to show it. It is not sinful man and his actions, but God’s love in action that will make the real difference.
