The 4 Dimensions or Levels of Godís Grace
Everything in the Kingdom of God comes to us in (Dimensions, Levels, Measures, Stages and Phases). Paul, James, Luke and John the Baptist knew and taught this concept of the Measure of Godís Gift of Grace. As Christians we need to learn the different Dimensions, Levels, Measures, Stages and Phases so that we donít remain stagnant or comfortable on any Level. Jesus wants us to GROW spiritually. If not, HE would not have inspired these men of God to teach the concepts of Godís Grace in great detail.
Hi Faith-writers, I thank God for another opportunity to teach on the Word of Grace. We are still focusing on the topic of Grace and we are going to understand the Dimensions, Levels and Measures of Godís Grace and how we can tap into it through every Stage in our spiritual growth.
Grace on Level # 1
The first Dimension of Godís Grace that was demonstrated to us was (Godís Unmerited Favor). This Measure of Grace that Paul spoke about was granted to us because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us by dying on the Cross. Paul explained in Ephesians chapter 2, how we were spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. Being rule by the prince of darkness (Satan) and we were disobedient walking in the flesh and we were classified as children of wrath (Ephesians 2:1-3 NKJV).
But God, who is rich in Mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by Grace you have been saved) (Ephesians 2:4-5 NKJV).
This Level of Grace is the Super-natural act that was already done for us 2000 years ago by Jesus Christ. Paul explained how we tapped into this Level of Grace; for it is by free GRACE (Godís Unmerited Favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christís salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8 AMP).
We learn several things by reading this verse in the Amplified Bible;
1. Paul defined Godís Grace as (Godís Unmerited Favor).
2. This Level of Grace was freely given to us.
3. By Faith we heard the topic of Salvation or the Born-again topic being preached or taught and our Faith in the Message of Jesus Christ increased to believe for our Salvation.
4. God made it all happen; He provided the way for Salvation. He provided the preacher. He inspired the Preacher. He touched our hearts to believe the Message and we experienced Godís abundant Grace to be saved or Born-again.
This is Paulís explanation of the process of the Level of Godís Grace being demonstrated to us as we became Born-again Christians. God was working things out throughout a lifetime while we were on earth until the time He was able to get us to the place where we can encounter the Gospel of Jesus Christ and when we did, we tasted a portion of Godís Amazing Grace in our lives.
Grace on Level # 2
Paul continued to teach us about the Dimensions of Godís Grace in the same letter he wrote to the Christians at Ephesus. Paul said we should walk worthy of our Calling by practicing some of the virtues (Fruits of the Spirit) which he gave us a list of 5 things we should do. And in case we were wondering how we are able to do it? Paul high-lighted that God gave us a Measure of the Gift of Grace to be able to practically applyóHumility, Gentleness, Patience, Showing tolerance, and being diligent to preserve unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace (Ephesians 4:1-7 NAS).
This Dimension of Godís Grace is a Divine ability (A Gift) that enables us to develop these (Fruits of the Spirit) to live a godly lifestyle on earth. Paul gave us a list of 9 Fruits of the Spirit we must learn to develop by the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit in (Galatians 5:22-26 NKJV).
When Paul wrote a letter to Titus he reaffirmed what this (Dimension of Grace) actually does in the life of a new believer. Paul said, for the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men (v. 11)
It teaches us to say ďNoĒ to ungodliness, and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (v. 12)
While we wait for the blessed hopeóthe glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ (v. 13)
Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good (v. 14) (Titus 2:11-14 NIV).
This Level of Grace Super-naturally inspires us to live holy. It teaches us to say ďNoĒ to ungodliness. To explain it better, once I was Born-again I immediately knew I could not go into the night clubs to party, pick up a hot looking babe and have sex. I knew I could not make shady deals and receive dirty money.
On the other hand, when it came to godliness, I had this overwhelming desire to praise God. After being Born-again I remember I woke up the next morning with an Amazing Joy that I never experienced. I yelled out, ďThank you Lord for another dayĒ, and I paused for a moment in amazement saying to myself did I just say that? But I continued to rejoice and I went for my Bible to read Scripture. Then I wanted to go to Church services. The new life in Christ Jesus made me totally different from what I use to be. Back then I didnít know this was Godís Second Dimension of Grace in my life, but now I know!
My point is no one told me I should do this or that as a Christian. I was automatically driven by Divine inspiration to praise God, Read Scripture, and have a desire to fellowship with Godís people. This is Godís Second Dimension of Grace in the life of a believer. Developing the (Fruits of the Spirit) can be done by the Gift of Grace that was imparted to us.
Godís Holy Spirit will help us to rectify our conduct every time we encounter a situation that will challenge us to behave ourselves as a Christian or to act out in ungodly conduct. After the encounter we will find ourselves alone and the Holy Spirit will bring the godly conviction to our hearts (human Born-again spirits) that we missed it and we must repent and go and make peace if itís possible. This is how we develop Fruit on Level 2 of Godís Grace.
Grace on Level # 3
The next Level or Dimension of Godís Grace is found in Paulís letter to Rome. Paul high-lighted this Level of Grace when he said, for through the Grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a Measure of Faith (v. 3)
Since we have Gifts that differ according to the Grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; (v. 6)
If service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; (v. 7)
Or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness (v. 8) (Romans 12:3, 6-8 NAS)
Paul shared how we are given Gifts according to the Grace given to us. We are to exercise these Gifts. It is good to note that developing the Fruits of the Spirit is different than exercising the Gifts of the Spirit. Fruit is character developmentówhile Spiritual Gifts is a gifted ability (a talent) that needs to be exercised to Minister to other people.
We all may learn Patience throughout a lifetime on earth in different areas of our Christian lives. But the Spiritual Gift of being a Bible Teacher is given to a selected few in the Body of Christ. The 7 Gifts Paul mentioned are;
1. The Gift of Prophecy (Article written 5-13-11)
2. Ministry (Deacons, Ushers, administrations) (Article written 5-19-11)
3. Teacher (Bible Teacher) (Articles written 5-29-11/ 6-2-11/ 6-3-11/ 6-5-11/ 6-8-11/ 6-10-11)
4. Exhorter (Biblical Motivational Speaker) (Article written 8-12-11)
5. The Gift of Giving (Article written 8-17-11)
6. Leader (Elders, pastors, Associate Pastors, Youth Pastors etc.) (Article written 8-28-11)
7. The Gift of Mercy (Article written 9-2-11)
Next to the Gift that was mentioned I wrote in the dates of the Articles that I was led to Teach on back in 2011. If you sense that you are called to operate in any of the Gifts we are discussing now, take advantage of the Teaching that is available in that Spiritual Gift. I believe it will help you understand the Gift and learn how to operate in it.
This Level or Dimension of Grace is given to us to learn how to operate in the Calling of a Bible Teacher, a Deacon, and A Motivational Speaker etc. so we may help other believers we are called to Minister to. For example, God Anointed me to Teach but after learning to Teach basic topics I was trained by the Holy Spirit to Teach deeper topics. Then I learned to be more detailed. Then I learned many other techniques to teach Godís Word more effectively. The same goes for all the other Gifts we must learn to exercise them so we may be effective for the Kingdom of God.
Great Grace Level # 4
The next Level or Dimension of Grace is labeled by Luke and James as Great Grace. The 4th Dimension is the Level of Grace that the Apostles operated in. We may also operate on that same Level Jesus said. Jesus said Greater Works we will do (See Article, ďGreater Works shall U DoĒ written 1-20-12).
Luke said, and with Great Power the Apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And Great Grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33 NKJV).
James said, but He gives more Grace. Therefore, He says: God resists the proud, but gives Grace to the humble (James 4:6 NKJV) In the Greekó(more Grace) -is Great Grace! How Awesome is that! Who qualifies for More Grace or Great Grace? (The Humble Christian.)
James outlined the negative characteristics that we must avoid in verses 1-5 in chapter 4.
1. If we stop having conflicts and disputes unnecessarily. And begin to approach and handle problems in a mature manneróthan we qualify for more Grace. (v. 1)
2. If we stop being possessive, greedy for money or higher status, or concern about personal recognitionóthan we qualify for more Grace. (v. 2)
3. If we stop praying for the wrong things, all for the wrong reasonsóthan we qualify for more Grace. (v. 3)
4. If we stop our friendship with the world by seeking pleasures at othersí expense or at the expense of obeying Godóthan we qualify for more Grace. (v. 3-4)
5. If we stop being envious or jealous of other people and their successóthan we qualify for more grace. (v. 5)
6. If we stop being prideful or arrogant at home, work or where ever we are, and begin to be humble instead then God will increase His Great Grace in our lives (v. 6) (James 4:1-6 NKJV).
If we go over this small check-list of negative traits that describe our motives and intents then we can clearly see where we need to pray for Mercy and Grace to help in our Christian Character development to be positioned to receive the Great Grace thatís available to us in the Kingdom of God. Yes, this is a deeper Level of living a Christian lifestyle that we rarely see demonstrated but I can tell you that God can takes to this Level of Living a godly lifestyle. So we may be used in a Great way. So the question is which Level are we currently living in and which Level do we desire to enter?
We have the knowledge, we have the practical Dimensions to live-in and grow spiritually, we even have the Gift of Grace and the Holy Spirit who will empower us to go to the next Level of Grace and operate in it effectively. All we need to do is apply it in Jesusí mighty name, Amen.
