“But now, O Lord, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8 (NASB).
I can joyfully reminisce on when I truly met Christ. I was a broken person, shattered to pieces and God put me back together again. Piece by piece He reshaped me and filled me with His wonderful Spirit. Like a beautiful vase that had come crashing to its demise, so fragile and thought to be of no more use; I found myself being held together only by my Savior Himself. Look around, there are so many other people shattered, pieces mixed about like a puzzle of a thousand pieces. However when placed in the Hands of the Master Potter, like me and so many others, He can put all back together.
As we allow Him, our Lord can do reconstruct us and He is the only One Who can. He is the One Who formed us when we were hidden and shaped in our mother's womb. His loving Hands arranged us, He beautifully adorned us, and so He knows where each and every one of the pieces belongs.
We did not start off broken, no vessel begins that way, because that was not His intent. In fact He said, "let Us make man in our image…" This was His plan; this was His true heart for mankind. We were indeed shaped by the Hand of the Potter, but life took its tolls and we made bad choices, we took wrong turns. We had placed ourselves in the hands of someone other than the Potter and there we have it, we were found shattered. Though we gave ourselves over to another and some of us caused our own brokenness, He willingly reaches out His strong Hand. As we take His Hand, He patiently and lovingly puts us back together because He holds the original plans.
So if you find yourself shattered even now, don't give up, take your broken pieces to the only One Who can and will put you back together again.
