The Curtain in the Temple

The Curtain in the Temple
The significance it has,
How much do we meditate,
To understand the importance it has?
Yes, Father how effectively you reach us
But do we ponder and see?
Or are we so busy
That we are oblivious of thee?

Father how you show us
Through signs and wonders in your Word
You know how un-believing
Untrusting, unfaithful and doubting are we.
The Curtain separated us –
From the Most Holy Place
Where you dwell on the Throne
In Power and Honor and Praise.
The Curtain separated us –
From Holiness, Purity, Peace
And where righteousness prevails.
We had neither hope nor expectation
To enter into Your Holy presence
Our sin separated us from you Oh! Father
What Hope we had none oh! None

But Father you loved us so
That you never wanted us to die.
You loved us so, that you gave us a second birth -
Thro’ Jesus Christ - your only Begotten Son.
Whom you sent into this world
To die on the cross for everyone
Through his death on the cruel cross
Today we have Hope
Through His resurrection
Today we have Eternal Life

Father when Your only Son died on the cross
And cried in agony and pain
And in His own accord
Gave His life into your Loving Hands
With a loud voice when He gave His Spirit
The Curtain in the Temple tore
The curtain which separated us from Your Holy presence
The curtain which blocked our view from You
The curtain which darkened our lives
Torn from top to bottom
What a precious thought it is
That the doorway to Your Presence is opened wide
That through your Son’s pierced body
We stand in victory
No guilt in life, no more shame, nor death
Our sins are forgiven
By the precious Blood of the Lamb
The curtain is torn and in humbleness we enter
Into Your Holy Presence, ‘cos of Your Love and Grace.

Search our hearts Oh! Father and examine in us today
Any veils in our life that
Separates us from Your Presence in any way.
Help us Oh! Father to humble and plead, we pray
To bring these curtains in our lives
In repentance to you today
Give us wisdom to know and understand
That the Curtain has been torn away
Make us aware –
That you have opened the way
By sending your Son Jesus Christ
Who has paved The Way
So that we may enter your Most Holy Presence
With praises, thanksgiving,
Adoration and prayer everyday.
