It is often true that “People don’t care what you know (think), until they know that you care” but it is always true that “People do care what you think when you matter to them”. That’s why the words of parents, spouses, children and close friends – whether good or bad – will always have an impact on your life. Would it interest you to know that God wrote a poem about you - that explains who you were created to be - before you even existed?
The Bible says “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) When I discovered that the Greek word translated ‘workmanship’ is ‘polema’ – from which we get our word ‘poem’ – it blew my mind. How amazing is it to think that the Creator God, who spoke the universe into existence, has written a poem about all of us that explains who we are and what we are meant to be.
But, how do you explain the fact that our lives seems more like a poem with half of the words jumbled up or even missing? The Bible calls this sin, and explains that our lives are out of alignment with God’s original purpose – no wonder our steering wheel shakes a lot.
Some people like to use the theory of evolution - a process of random accidents and survival of the fittest – to tell a different story about who we are. They say that we are an accident, that this life is all there is, and that God is an illusion. If they’re right, then the person who said, “Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you will die” has a point. Some of us might prefer to believe this, but many of us have a strong sense that there has to be more.
We are not an accident of the universe, but we have fallen short of the Creators original purpose. COME to Jesus, where you can find your true self, and your true purpose, and become poetry in motion.
JOHN 1:12 says, “For as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the power to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
