Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The pacification of modern Christianity disgusts me more than I can mention without actually blowing a gasket or suffering a stroke. The modern day neutering of God's Word along with watering down our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to where He is nothing more than a giggly, syrupy acting, sin tolerating, air headed hippie is not only blasphemy but just as nauseating as it is insulting. I've heard instances where the Spiritual war, and yes for you "do not judge/positive thinking/feel good" sheep, is a war minimized in songs and other media as a baseball game or some other past time because the term “war” carries such a negative connotation these days. In your walk adorn the whole armor of God and fight the good fight. Forget about baseball or other sport references. This is all out war, so don't even try to play games with Satan or his minions in this grueling take no prisoners fight. Years ago there was a song with the lyric "where did all the cowboys go?" Well, I want to know where are all the men with rock solid resolve like Paul, John the Baptist, and Peter. Where are men like the great Jonathan Edwards, who in the 18th century, preached boldly and unashamedly Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, arguably one of the most powerful and soul reaching sermons ever written or presented? Those kinds of men are sorely missed in modern day churches and yet there are so called men of God today who preach selectively from Scripture, only teaching and proclaiming the "positive" verses of the Word to tickle the ears of people as they foolishly try to please man instead of the Lord. Well, those men need to man up, put on the whole armor of God and rightly divide the Word in its entirety as 2 Timothy 3:16-17 states. And if they insist on coping out on rightly dividing the Word of God, then they need to get out of the pulpit because to only preach or accept part of God's Word is to deny it completely. God's call in the Word is clear to be doers of the Word not hearers only and it is clear to put on the whole armor of God, stand boldly and go out into the world, fighting the good fight, rightly dividing His Word while making disciples in His name. Either wear the armor, fight the war or don't. Obey Him or not. Either accept Him or deny Him. Be either hot or cold. There is no gray area and there is no fence to ride upon for either we stand for Him or we stand against Him. Man up, my fellow believers and put on the whole armor and take up the cross and follow Him. Or sit back and live in the world and do nothing for Him. The choice is yours and I pray you will take the opportunity to live for Him without worry or regard to what others think. Because if you are attacked for standing for Christ, then count it joy when you face the trials. And take from me, I can testify to the joys that come from wearing the armor of God. My fellow believers, I invite you stand with the Lord as we wage the war in each step we take in the good fight for Christ.
