Our Lord wonderfully taught us 'Do not judge others', yet He also teaches us through Paul as to how we need to judge those inside the church.
Not that we move around the house of God with eyes of suspicion, however I need to be sensitive to any sinful and unworthy act in the house of God and especially amongst the people of God.
"For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? " 1 Corinthians 5:12
Paul is very particular with them who are called as brother, and who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person
1 Corinthians 5:11.
Even Jesus was annoyed when He saw the temple unclean and act not worthy of its glory were found therein, for He said then...And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” Matthew 21:13 (NKJV)
The Lord has commended, applauded and rewarded such acts from the beginning and looks with great pride those who stand for His name, who uphold His glory.
This one act of Phinehas the son of Eleazar pleased the Lord abundantly ...
"Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel. " Numbers 25:7-8 (NKJV)
and this what the Lord said to Moses about it....
"Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal. Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him My covenant of peace; and it shall be to him and his descendants after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Israel.’” Numbers 25:10-13 (NKJV)
Phinehas pleased God and thus turned back His wrath, God is angry even today, who will stand for Him? who will be jealous for Him and turn away His wrath?
Today the church might not have been inflicted with adultery, yet there may be many such deeds which the Lord does not approve and they need to be dealt with.
I am not starting a revolt here, yet just a request to keep clean that which has been washed by the blood of the lamb.
The world is corrupt and thus the weary soul runs to the house of the Lord and it would be the most pitiable if anyone should find it as Jesus found, 'the prayer house turned to the den of robbers, cheats, liars and everything the Lord hates.'
God never loved a big church for which probably striveth the leader today, yet God loves the faithful, the just and the true worshippers who worship Him in Spirit and truth.
When we first believed in the Lord, we stepped into a holy relationship with the Father and praised Him for the blessed church He gave us, let's keep praising Him and let's stand for Him and His glory always.
Let our lives be immersed in prayer and let our hearts overflow with the anointing of the blessed Holy Spirit and let's move at His command in all we do.
In reading through this article, it forces the question of, do we obtain a better zeal for the Lord through a better, more pure management? Or a more complete surrender? More here... Jeff. http://managedsurrender.com/managed-surrender/
