Come Unto Me
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Matthew 11:28
What a privilege to come to such a savior as Jesus who bids us come to Him. He does not drown out our countenance with a cold stare of indifference but He delights to call us to Himself. When our hearts grow cold because of our waywardness our precious Lord Jesus draws us back to Himself with cords of love until we see the error of our way and bow our head in shame and humble submission to taste the honey of His golden counsel in all its wisdom and beauty. Oh, delight yourself child of God in your redeemer's infinite kindness and the righteousness He so graciously grants us so that we might have His peace and be delivered from the wrath to come. Beloved, can you have a dearer friend than Jesus? One comforting word from His lips will satisfy your thirsty ears and lay thee down beside the one who bids thee come unto me all ye that labor and are of heavy laden. No sin is too great that Jesus can not forgive it if you will but come to Him.
