This title tells it ALL about the Bible. Every year it is the #1 Best Seller, but what happens to a lot of those Bibles that are purchased each year? Many are on bookshelves and end tables never to be opened. All they are doing is collecting dust. If you opened up these Bibles the pages would still be crisp and have the smell of a brand new book. Now the funny part; these same families are wondering why God has not or is not moving in their lives or blessing them. If only they began to read and study their Bible, then He'd meet them where they are. A light is not any good unless it is plugged into an electrical source. We are not any good unless we are plugged into the SOURCE and we do that through prayer, meditation, and studying the Bible.
Now that we've gotten through the introduction, it's time to look at the Power of the Bible. It is unlike any other book ever written. There are some inspired and powerful books written by men and women; but how about a collection of books written by about 40 men over 1500 years. They have such a connection and flow that it could only be inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is something that has never been done before or ever will be done again. Every word is inspired by God and has power behind it. Testimonies about how a Scripture encouraged someone, stopped a suicide, restored a family, delivered a drug addict, saved a sinner, and so on. Can any other book talk about results like that? How many lives were changed after reading a Stephen King or John Grisham book? Not knocking them, but proving a point. That certain book, no matter how many times you read it, it will always be the same. It is not going to change. The Bible is the only book that states that it is alive (Heb. 4:12) and powerful. Whatever you need, it will provide it for you.
The Bible has met me in my lowest state. I was lost, scared, and didn't know what to do. In a place where peace and contentment isn't usually found; the Bible and God provided it for me. In the loss of loved ones; the Bible provided me encouragement. In my friendships; it showed me how to be a friend and what a friend truly is. When I've been on the Mountain Top; it has shown me how to be humble and continue to Praise the Lord. Just what it's done for me, the Bible will do the same for you.
If you've never experienced the Bible like this before, jump in and taste what God has for you. The Bible will be ALL you need and then some. You don't need another Self-Help book, dive into the Bible and get God's help. I know I can't do it on my own, but know that it'll be OK when He's walking with me. Let the Bible live in you and speak to you. Live and walk it daily.

Brother David, this is a great article that highlights the Bible in a different way and is a very good read. I love the way you made the Bible come alive as a practical document for living and not a dead scroll for academics to study and you did it beautifully when you wrote, "The Bible has met me in my lowest state. I was lost, scared, and didn't know what to do. In a place where peace and contentment isn't usually found; the Bible and God provided it for me. In the loss of loved ones; the Bible provided me encouragement. In my friendships; it showed me how to be a friend and what a friend truly is." David, this is a great testimony and shows that the Bible is and can be relevant to people's lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I encourage you to keep writing and relying on God's Word and providing these powerful insights. Blessings.
