From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. (Matthew 4:17-20)
If a stranger came to you today and told you, "Follow me, and I will make you a fisher of men", how would you react? Would you leave eveything behind and follow him? Or would you probably say, "This guy shouldn't be let out on the streets."
But the Bible says that Peter and Andrew "left their nets, and followed Him". They did it immediately without even asking what He meant.
Why did they do it?
What was so special about this stranger?
Jesus says in Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End [...] who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
So if you ever hear Him saying "Repent", think twice before you ignore His voice...
