Children's watch cartoon and its so fun, for anything can happen in a cartoon world, the hero can jump buildings, can climb the skyscraper with bare hands, can jump before a car and stop it, or can see sparkling stars falling from a tree, anything and everything can happen in a cartoon world,
how about the real world? Is everything possible? can I control everything? can I see good coming out of everything? do I need to fear about the uncertainty?
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
Paul knows His God and thus boldly proclaims that he can do all through Jesus Christ.
This is something more than just comparing with a cartoon world, in the real world with God all things are possible.
We may be in a situation that is beyond our capacity or that even of our loved ones, we may desire and even try to comfort ourselves and so may our loved ones and may often fail to do so, however if we commit ourselves, our situations, our circumstances into the most able hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He is more than able to deliver us and comfort us.
Paul also once said with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. " Romans 8:37 (NKJV)
Paul is not forming inspirational quotes to attract fame, rather what he said is something which should form the person and character of a believer.
Job when totally broken and when amidst deep sorrow and pain calls out this from the depth of his heart...
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth; Job 19:25 (NKJV)
God is able, yet we should believe, we should hold on our trust on God and never lose hope.
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
Who pleases God more than a believing child, just like a child who fully trusts his parents so God desires our trust.
We do not live in a cartoon world to have all in an unusual way,
yet if we live with God we can live through the impossible day,
I like your illustration of a cartoon world. I think it may be a better example than you intended. Brings back memories of the earlier cartoons where various characters actually interacted with the cartoon author as part of the episode. The interesting thing would be if the cartoon characters did not know they were in a cartoon world and tried to manage their own affairs as if no author of the cartoon world existed. As if no one came in to rescue them and show them the way back into the real world. Jeff. More thoughts here: http://managedsurrender.com/managed-surrender/mirrors/heaven-is-here-but-not-now/
