Solitude with God

by Kelly Frye Sharpe (Notes) on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2:16pm

The process it will take for God to conform me, to His purpose can sometimes be slow. I have learned over the years that I can be used by God after I allow myself to listen to God and let Him show me the deep hidden areas of my own character.

How many of us have learned to look inwardly with courage? I have found that we have to get rid of the idea we understand ourselves. That is the last bit of pride to go. Whenever there is any element of pride or conceit remaining, Jesus can't teach us any things. He will allow us to experience heartbreak or disappointments we feel when our intellectual pride is wounded. He will reveal numerous misplaced affection or desires - things over which we never thought He would show us when we spend time alone, praying to  him.

Remember, true faith is knowing the facts and believing with our minds and hearts that which are true.
