ONLY BELIEVE - Mark 5:36
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid; only believe." (NKJV)
Jesus was approached by a leader of the synagogue and invited to pray for his daughter who was seriously sick. However, as Jesus set out to pray for the little girl, He was momentarily detained by the needs of a woman with a healing need, and while He took time to minister to this lady, a messenger came to the father of the little girl to say "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?" However, "As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue,"Do not be afraid; only believe." Hear the voice of the Lord today as He speaks His Spirit of Life into the lives of His very precious, blood bought sons and daughters. There is healing and restoration in His voice. There is life and strength and victory in His words. Hallelujah!
Many of us have been experiencing a season of waiting, for the manifestation of healing from infirmities, breakthrough in financial challenges, or for the healing of relationships and families. The Lord Jesus declares into our lives today "believe and receive." There are some potent threads of Truth we can take from this little verse of Scripture and some things we can change to see those long term prayers answered.
1. Change your confession and reject the voice of negativity . Jesus was not affected by the news that was brought. We are told that "as soon as" He heard the words, He addressed them. Counter every negative thought (the voice of the enemy) and word (the voice of the world) with the voice of the Word, the words of God. Our words affect the atmosphere around us and our words activate the spiritual realm. Our words can also affect our emotions and bodies. There have been multiple times in the recent past when I have (with the Holy Spirit!) spoken the Word of God over myself and brought myself from infirmity to strength. Be quick to counter the voice of darkness with the voice of the light. God backs your positive confession because it is a reflection of His heart for you.
2. Say "no" to fear . Jesus said to the father of the child "Do not be afraid". Fear is constantly knocking on the doors of our lives, looking to get in one way or the other, and if we permit it to enter, then the battle climbs to another level. You may have had a bad report from the doctor, but Jesus says to you today "Do not be afraidï". You may be facing a serious financial situation or on the brink of what seems like a family break up but Jesus says to you "Do not be afraid, I am with you."
3. Focus on faith. Focus on Jesus! When He tells us not to be afraid, Jesus is calling us to focus not on the mountain that stands before us but upon Him. The more we look at the problem, the bigger it seems to be. (For example, people feel much sicker than they were when they read about their symptoms on the internet or talk about the infirmity multiple times with friends!) The name of Jesus is higher and greater than any name of any infirmity or problem the world has ever known. In the power of the Holy Spirit, I declare upon your life today that every infirmity or curse that exists bows to the name above all names, the name of JESUS. I release His breakthrough power and life into you now, in His mighty name, Amen! Let Jesus be magnified in your life today. Focus on Him, and you will be opening yourself to all the goodness that flows from Him life and health and wholeness through the power of the blood He shed and the precious Holy Spirit, hallelujah! Jesus tells you what you need to do: "believe"!
4. Remember that nothing surprises God and nothing is too hard for Him! Jesus set out to raise up a child from a bed of infirmity. Although the situation changed while He was en route, but He was not at all challenged by having to raise her from her death bed. Your situation may seem to be getting worse, but God is able. He is already working behind the scenes, preparing the ground and calling forth your harvest. All the more will the name of Jesus be glorified when your breakthrough is manifested in the physical realm. Your miracle is going to be awesome and so powerfully real because God is doing something that you could have never managed to make happen in your strength.
I feel the Holy Spirit speaking into some specific life situations today. There are some precious people who have been waiting for healing in their body and mind, and God wants you to know that this is your time for breakthrough. Stop focusing on the physical and begin to declare God's healing upon yourself today as you call forth into your body, spirit and soul the fullness of what Jesus has already done for you. Be healed in Jesus' mighty name!
There is also someone who was waiting for finances and there have been many hindrances, but you will have everything you need (and in time) to do what God has placed in your heart to do. Focus on Jesus and not on your numbers, God is bringing you the breakthrough!
There is also someone who has been awaiting news about a job, and I feel the Holy Spirit saying to you "Believe and receive." Stand on His Word and begin to thank and praise Him for His goodness and love. There is good news on the way for you, hallelujah!
Let every spirit of fear and anxiety be broken off your heart and mind as you choose to focus on the Lord of Love who says to you again "Do not be afraid. Only believe Me. I am with you and my grace is upon you!" In the name of Jesus, I bind those negative voices which discourage and dismay you. May you experience the full manifestation of the breakthrough you seek, and may the love of Abba be your portion today and always, in Jesus' name, amen!
