When SHE HEARD about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment; for SHE SAID, 'If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.' Immediately the fountain of her blood dried up, and she was healed of her affliction. Mark 5:27-29 (NKJ)
Here we see a woman who was struggling for years with an issue, with no help in sight. She heard about Jesus and decided that He was her only hope. She pushed and pressed her way through the crowd until she GOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO TOUCH the hem of His garment. She was immediately healed of her affliction.
Matthew 14:36 (NKJ) ...they begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. In both verses, lives were changed because they touched the hem of His garment. Sometimes, I think we feel that we need to do great acts of faith like, surviving a fiery furnace, or maybe we think slaying giants is needed to receive His anointing? How often do we make faith a lot harder then it really is?
According to these verses all we really need are a few basic steps. First we need to hear about Him. Then we need to confess with our mouths that we believe His presence is enough! We need to believe that touching the hem, or rather the outer edge of His presence will bring His anointing flowing in our lives. The last step, be in His Presence!
