Are we called to unconditional love?

What would it look like to fearlessly love? Are we called to unconditional love? Did Jesus love unconditionally? I say Yes! Without conditions, without restraint, Jesus loved. Oh, how He loved the sinner. The compassion He had and showed plainly to the worst of humanity according to 'society' and the worst of the Pharisees who sinned against God Himself in His very name. Does this mean God loves sin? No, He hates sin but loves the sinner. He loves the sinner so much that He humbled Himself to come in the likeness of sinful flesh to be the pure and spotless lamb of God. He demonstrated that He is indeed the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature. Jesus said "if you've seen me, you've seen the Father". He's my model, the mold, my mentor, the teacher - He is everything. When I read through the gospels, I see a Jesus who was always patient and loving with the lost sheep. It wasn't the Pharisees and their vast knowledge of all things religious that the people flocked to. It was the love of God and the simple acceptance of whoever you are and have been. The unconditional love of Jesus was evident in His words and actions. I want to be like Jesus. Impossible! But with God all things are possible. He even gives the simplest instructions. "When one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another." 2 Corinth 3:16-18. Turn to the Lord and behold Him. That's all. Let Him do the rest.
