One of the things that I detest more than anything is a Spiritual Hypocrite. A Lukewarm Saint. You know--the one who has one foot in the world and one foot out. Could it be that I detest them so much because I used to be one myself? Only God knows. But I thank Him for His grace and mercy. I thank Him for sending someone along to open my blinded eyes and let me know that, although I thought I was truly serving God, I was half-stepping. I was doing more damage to the kingdom of God than I even realized.

A few years ago, if I didn't open up my mouth and tell you that I was a Christian, you would have never known it. You certainly couldn't tell by my actions. I was very worldly. Very carnal in my thinking. I thought that confessing Christ at the age of 7 was all I was born to do. From 7 until the time Christ returns, my responsiblity (I thought) was to live holy and wait on him to come back. And hope that he didn't come back when I was doing something I wasn't suppose to be doing.

It was no thing for me to hang around my worldly friends and talk about Christ one minute. Then the next minute, I was talking about other folk. Gossiping, cursing, lying, backbiting, fornicating, clubbing... You name it. I did it.

God Himself says in Revelation 3:15-16 , I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

You see, I wasn't fooling anyone but myself. I beleive that is why God said what He said above. When you are cold, you are not going to be mixing God with your coldness. You could care less about what God thinks. And you could care less about telling others about Jesus. It's the furthest thing from your mind. But's that's okay because the blood of Jesus and the Power of the Holy Spirit is still strong enough to transform you into a vessel that God can use.

On the other hand, when you are lukewarm, it does not just affect you and your relationship with God. It also affects others. As a matter of fact, your lukewarmness may actually be turning them away from God. They see what you're doing. You're doing the same thing they are doing. So if you are doing the same thing they are doing, then why would they want to come to Jesus. Obviously, from looking at you, He is not the answer. He didn't change you.

God wants you to be either on Fire for Him or NOT. There is no grey area. You might say to yourself, "Well, can't God see that I am trying... I'm not perfect...
etc. etc...

My Bible tells me in Matthew 5:48 to "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

But here is the catch...

We try to be perfect in and of ourselves. I'm here to tell you that is not the way. We will NEVER be perfect on our own. I've tried and and it JUST DOESN'T WORK!! It is only when we submit to the the power of the Holy Spirit that HE begins to make us into a Perfect Reflection of God. You have to let Go and let the Holy Spirit have TOTAL control of every area of your life. When you yield to the Holy Spirit, he will gradually begin to change you. Sure you will still have those temptations in the flesh. But's that's okay because the Holy Spirit will help you to not yield to those temptations. It's not the temptation that's a sin. It is the yielding. Remember that.

If you are shaky right now in your walk with Christ, a/k/a Lukewarm, I beleive that God would much rather you not even tell anyone that you are a Christian. Why do I say that? I say that because if you're shaky and you are trying to minister to someone else, you will end up doing more damage than good. Damage to the Kingdom of God. And if you really think about it, it's only the Lukewarm saints that parade around telling people that they are Christians anyway!! The ones that are cold couldn't care less. And the ones that are Hot and on fire for God, won't have to tell anyone that they are a Christian. Why? Because others will be able to SEE the Christ in them. They don't have to have 10,000 bumper stickers on their car. They don't have to wear t shirts everyday saying I am a Christian. They instead walk the walk. And that is what is pleasing to God.

We say that we represent Christ. Rexamine that phrase. We RE present Christ. That means that every single day, your mission should be to RE present Christ to a lost, hurt and dying world. Let's stop the lukewarmness! God is FED up with it. And when God gets FED up, He will spew you out of His mouth!

Father God,

I pray that you will forgive all who read this that have been lukewarm in their walk with you. God we want more of you. We want to be on Fire for you. I pray Father that you will overtake each reader by the power of Your Holy Spirit and transform them into one of Your sons that is on FIRE for you God. I pray that it becomes a burning desire in their heart, mind, soul and spirit to live a life that is pleasing to you. A life that glorifies you 100%. A life that will RE present you to the world each and every day of their lives. And God we give you all of the glory, all of the honor, and all of the praise. Thank you God. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, So Be it. (Amen)
