I'm grounded
But not in a bitter sense of the phrase
My parents did not punish me
For spiritual and moral grounding
Are not punishment-
Just a small piece of freedom
I know what I want in life
My head ain't in the clouds
My ears don't got wax in 'em
And my eyes are wide open
Because I'm grounded
I try to do what's right
and not what's wrong
Although it's hard,
To be a grounded,
independent, Christian teenager
And not give into
all the surrounding peer pressure
Don't wanna have sex, do drugs or drink
I like the freedoms
and the friends I have too much
And the air I breathe everyday
Just one time could take away my freedoms
One joint, one drink-
Could change me
That's not how it's gonna be for me
Cause I'm grounded and
you can't knock me off my feet!!
