God told Abraham (Abram), go to a place where you I will show you. (Gen 12:1). There are some believers who are so obedient unto God that He needs not give them specific instructions. Because their hearts are so ravished with their King and in tune with His, they understand the 'unspoken request' made of Him and they willingly comply, no questions asked. The Lord did not have to be specific with Abraham because Abraham knew His heart. When someone knows you intimately, they don't have to speak formally with you. They can use one or two phrases and you will have comprehended an entire message because you are familiar with their sound of speech.
For some of us, God has to tell us when, how, where, why, what, and why not. He has to lay it all down and make it plain as the nose on our face because He knows we are not accustomed to hearing His voice. Gideon was unsure of the Lord's voice so he kept asking for signs. Many of you are still asking God for confirmations because you didn't believe what He told you THE FIRST TIME! So now He has to repeat Himself.
Even in our giving, the Lord told Moses to set parameters to teach the people to give because it was not in their heart to do so. Jacob tithed without a law because it was already in his heart. The early church didn't need a law of 10% because they wanted to give more than that, they wanted God to have it all!
Some people have to pray 3 times a day specifically because they were told to, but another can pray once, and receive more than the other simply because they had it in their heart to pray without being told to.Parents, wouldn't you rather your child perform their chores because they want to or because you are standing over them forcing them? Husbands, wouldn't you rather your wife initiate intimacy rather than you begging her? Wives, wouldn't you rather your husband take you shopping as his own idea rather than you nag him about it? Submission in relationships is more vital than you know. And for those who desire to be friends with God, you MUST learn submission, obedience, and willingness. Otherwise, consider yourself a servant.
