We live in a world of diversity and creativity. Many people come from different backgrounds and possibly share the same experiences be it education, employment or life issues. I believe that human beings were created to number one, bring glory to God and number two help our fellow man. So, what I am talking about is helping others.
In a fast paced world where everything is constantly changing, it is easy to get caught up and solely focused on our lives and ignore the cries of those who are hurting. It is better to do something than to do nothing at all. God uses people to be a blessing to others. We help others by using our time, money or perhaps a kind word. Oftentimes, we complain about not having our needs met but when you really think about it, we are already blessed.
There are a lot of people who really need help. So a part of life is about helping others. Believe it or not, we are all brothers and sisters on earth. Helping is a ministry of God.
A joy is experienced when you lend a helping hand. Imagine the smile that comes across a child face because he or she has a plate of food and a cup of clean drinking water. Or the warmth that a man feels because he has a coat on. I believe that a time is coming when instead of waiting for the next hot cell phone, big screen T.V. or computer to arrive, we may be waiting for our next hot meal to arrive.
As we help others we in turn, receive help. It does not take much just a willing spirit and an open heart. This is how we show the love of God when we love our neighbor.
In conclusion, helping others is one of our purposes in life. We are not on earth to live a strictly self centered life. We are here for a much bigger cause than our selves. When we embrace this train of thought, we will grow in the spirit of love as God intended through His Son Jesus Christ.
