Mark 4:37-38(NIV)—37) A furious squall came up and the waves broke over the boat…. 38) …. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?
When tragedies, troubles, worries, or heartbreaking events happen in life, doesn't it seem like a dam is breaking and watching all the water come at you? You begin to feel overwhelmed and think that no one cares, especially God. You think how could God let this happen to me? When the truth of the matter is, God didn't cause the situation. Sin and free will are the culprits. He allowed it to happen for a purpose. He could be teaching a lesson in love or patience, or guiding us to trust in Him. He always turns bad situations into something worthwhile for going through the fire.
After we have accepted Jesus into our lives as our Lord and savior, God molds us into who we were meant to be. When we have Jesus in our lives, He gives us the strength to get through all the tragedies, and troubles, and heartbreaks. We worry less because we learn to trust in God and know that He will never leave us nor forsake us. We also know how much He loves us; and that He won’t give us more than we can handle without having a way out. Accepting Christ in our life is the only way we will see Jesus when God calls us home.
