Wake up O sleeper rise from the dead,
Christ will shine on you so be fed;
So be careful on how you live,
It may not be sound to forgive.
Do not live like the foolish ones,
It might tempt your daughters and sons;
Rather follow those who are wise,
Their wisdom will open your eyes.
Make the most at every chance,
It is possible to advance;
For are living in evil days,
Those with power have wicked ways.
Be not foolish but understand,
Or you wind up on sinking sand;
Learn what the Lord desires,
For what your reward requires.
Do not get drunk on booze or wine,
Just some at times while you dine;
It leads you to wild living,
With immoral and wrongdoing.
Instead be filled with the Spirit,
Who will judge you on your merit;
By reciting the psalms and songs,
Singing of where your heart belongs.
And thank God in the name of Christ,
For all of which was sacrificed;
A living prayer without a fret,
For what is the best season yet.
So subject yourself to each other,
To both your sister and brother;
In the fear of Christ come what may,
When the judgment sounds on that day.
