Don hated Christians. He hated everything they stood for. If there was a God, then why did He let his little baby girl die in his arms on that tragic night? Why?! Don thought back to the memories of his little girl...... Her smile would light up even the darkest places. Her beautiful blonde hair shimmered and shined as she carelessly sang on any given sunny day. Kate was gone and God was to blame, thought Don. One thing that always stopped him in his tracks were the songs Kate sang. He could still see her. There she was dancing as if gravity had no hold on her, singing to songs that were played on Klove. He remembered one of her favorites was by Third Day, called Born Again. Born again?..... Don let those two words sink deep into his darkened soul. He tried to remember some of the lyrics, but he just couldn't. He made a mental note to look the song up on YouTube when he got home. Boy them "Christians" sure brainwashed my precious little Kate. She was smart enough to see right through them, but she was changed...by the "power" of the so called Son of God. The thought of Jesus almost made Don puke up his burger, which he just finished. "Where were You Jesus as my baby took her last breath?", he screamed as he smashed his fists against the car steering wheel. Tears rolled down his face. Something happened next that he couldn't explain. So shocking, that he had to quickly stop driving and pull to the side of the rode. His core was still in knots over what had just happened..... After Don yelled at Jesus, his mind replayed his last moments with Kate. Why would he all of a sudden think of that?, he questioned. It had been a very tiring day at the office, that wasn't it though. His mind went again back to Kate's last moments, it was just as clear as a movie. No fog. No forgotten words. Clear as clear could get. There Kate was, struggling to even speak. Looking at him with those gorgeous big blue eyes of hers. Don knew that she knew her life was almost over. The look on her face was surprisingly peaceful. She wasn't panicking, wasn't scared, it was a look of pure peace, almost like she knew what awaited her. The next thing was what really confused him. His baby girl was in his arms dying and she wasn't saying how she loved him or tell so and so that I love them, she used her last bit of breath to tell her daddy about Jesus. She said, "Daddy I have got tell you one last thing before I go." Don was all ears and cleared his mind to listen. He wasn't ready for what she said. "Jesus died a horrible death on a cross. Daddy we can't save ourselves, we have to have Christ." He had tried to get her to save her strength and not talk about Christ, but she wouldn't have it. She continued, "Daddy, please don't blame God for my death. God saved me. He came in and made me a new creation, God saved me and He wants to save you also, Daddy. Remember always that God loves you." As she ended her last few words on earth, a big smile washed across her face and she took her last breath. Don now was sobbing like he hadn't sobbed in months. Why did his little girl use her last words to speak of Jesus? Why was she so peaceful about death? Was there something to this Jesus thing? For the first time in his life he thought there could be. He cried to God and said, "God if You are real, give me the peace that my little girl had. Give me the joy that she had as she spoke of Your name. Please save me Jesus." That night Don accepted Jesus as his savior. In the months to follow Don allowed Jesus to truly transform him. He no longer cursed at God. No longer ran the name of Jesus through the mud. He truly was changed by the grace of God. Oh yea, one more thing.... He looked up the Third Day song Born Again and it now is one of his favorite songs. Did the pain completely go away? Nope, but he knew and trusted in Christ now. Jesus was his stronghold and he knew that God truly saved him on that crazy night in his car. God gets all the glory and praise!!!
