Will You Be Caught Naked? Exposed?
2 Corinthians 5:4 “…if indeed having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.”
Do you feel you could stand comfortably before the creator of the universe who is both simple holiness and simple love? Would you feel exposed? Is there anything you would prefer hidden?
When we stand before Him at the end of our life we will not be able to deny who we are or how we have lived. All excuses will simply dissolve. We will see Him as He is and see ourselves as we are. We will have nothing to say.
God knew we would come to this. He knew we would fail. He is not unfair, unjust. He will not demand without providing the means. He knew we would not be able to live acceptably in His sight. He knew beforehand. He knew, so He provided. He had a plan before the world was formed. He had a plan for you before you were born.
He offered His son as a sacrifice that would pay for your sins. His son came willingly. This gift was not easy. It cost God, the father, dearly. His son’s life would be difficult. In the end while on the cross, all the sins, the wrongs ever committed or would ever be committed were placed on His son. This son who had the innocence and purity of a new born was now contaminated with all evil possible. He died an innocent being, taking on himself all the judgment for all evil. His blood was shed to cleanse us and cover us as a protection for that time of judgment.
So at that time when we stand before Him, He will want to know what we did with His gift of salvation. He will ask, “What did you do about my son?”
If we take on Christ with His gift of cleansing and renewing we will not be exposed. Those who have accepted his gift of salvation are cleansed and born again, and will be able to stand before God on that day without fear knowing that they have been made acceptable. Their name will be clear. There will be no record of wrongs. They will not be naked and exposed. They will know they are covered in God’s eyes.
Romans 13:14 “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ”
Romans 8:1 “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
Philippians 3:8-9 “Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord…and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, …but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;”
