You are devastated right now and wondering, how could this have happened to me? The very first day you walked into your job ministry you were already prayed up and of course had rebuked every attack against you before they even started. As a child of God you knew the enemy would rear his ugly head some way, through someone, at some time. Regardless, you knew that God would protect you as long as you remained in faith and trusted Him. You worked so hard, touched so many lives, and knew that God’s anointing was evident in your talk, your walk, and your very presence everywhere your anointed feet tread. You knew that this was a place that God sent you to fulfill his will.
You were kind, considerate of others, and helpful to co-workers, but regardless of how you treated others, they could not appreciate you. Instead of your kindness being reciprocated and honored, they persecuted and criticized you. You were ignored, and mean gossip spread throughout like a wildfire about you. They lied, schemed, plotted and planned your demise. You were hated. You asked God, “How much longer lord do I have to endure this? Where are you Lord when evil is lurking all around me? What should I do lord? You plead with God for wisdom and only silence answers you. Then the day comes when you hear the words: “We’re letting you go, or maybe you’ve heard the words, “You’re not a good fit.”
You’re stunned, in total shock, or maybe you’ve anticipated this coming all along. As you empty your desk, they’re surrounding you, watching you like blood thirsty soldiers, and you can feel the tension in the room silently applauding, as you make your way out of such humiliating circumstances. As you remove your credentials and other items which reflect the true spirit you possess, they are still there, standing guard, keeping a close eye on you, hoping that you curse, cry, or even rage with your tongue about the injustice committed against you. However, something inside of you is whispering, “Your assignment is complete here. Well done my faithful servant.” However you are so angry that the words coming from above bring you no comfort at all, because all you can think about is how you will reveal the terrible news to your spouse, your children, and your loved ones. A teardrop tries hard to escape the hollow of your sad soaked eyes and you force it back in, holding on to every ounce of dignity you have left, determined not to let them see how badly they've hurt you. Not only is your ego wounded but your soul is feeling the impact of the many years, months, and days you've had to endure such harsh circumstances.
~~~~~ Points to Remember~~~~~
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13.
•The first thing you should do before starting the engine and driving off in a total fog of emotional pain, is to lift your hands and praise God whether you understand it or not.
Even when everything on the inside of you is screaming anger, unfairness, pain and humiliation, lift your hands high in the air and thank God for what just happened. Maintain the same faith in the same God you had while you were on the job. Let no one steal that from you. It doesn’t matter whether your termination was caused by you or someone else, God is still in control and no devil in hell can stop what God has planned for your life if you stay in faith.
•Immediately rebuke every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge and will of God.
God will never harass you about the present circumstance nor would He continue rehashing what the enemy did to you. God will push you to remain focused on Him and what the next chapter of your life is. Any negative thoughts are not of God, but only that negative intelligence battling your mind and taking advantage of your vulnerability.
•Your assignment is over there, plain and simple.
The truth is: You were never fired, but released by the hand of God. When God wants to release you from a bad place, He will oftentimes harden the hearts of the leadership against you. While they believe that they are in control of your fate, they are being used as pawns to fulfill what God intended for you. Your season has finished there and God has something new, something more fulfilling in mind for you because He loves you so much. Nothing can happen to you unless God allows it. Remember it came to Him first, before you knew about it. If God allowed it, He will take what they meant for evil and turn it around for your good and His glory. Good things always come out of bad situations, and you were simply delivered. Remain in Faith.
•If you hear the words, “You’re just not a good fit.”
Don’t argue back; just receive these very profound well planned words in a spirit of love. As a child of the most high, you will never fit into a negative environment. While you may thrive there for a season, you will never be a part of them. Healthy minded people never thrive in unhealthy environments. You have a higher calling, much higher than the reason they thought you were there for. Remain in faith.
•Instead of allowing the enemy to convince you that there is something wrong with you because “you’re not a good fit.” Praise God you didn’t fit in.
A child of God doesn’t fit into a negative, gossiping, backstabbing, hateful, discriminatory, unfair environment. What your employer did was just give you a compliment. Receive it, praise God for it, and remain in faith. God is in control of your life. Don’t even be offended. The only way you can feel insulted by what they do or say is if you value their opinion. Why would you value the opinion of a negative intelligence? Believe God and stand on His word alone.
•Heard the old saying, birds of a feather flock together? There is nothing further from the truth.
Don’t ever allow the insecurities of others to determine your self -worth. The bible clearly states that they will hate you, persecute you, and speak all manner of evil about you, but to be of good cheer, God has overcome the world. Carnal minded people have no understanding of the higher purpose God has for your life, they only know that they hate you, and the sad part is, they have no idea why. Puppet minded individuals will follow the lead of their leader. Sometimes these pretend Christians will talk and walk like the real thing, but watch whose lead they are following around the office. That’s the real truth of who they are. “Don’t be surprised my brothers and sisters if the world hates you.” John 3:13 NIV.
•The truth is, they are afraid of who you represent. Jesus Christ!
Your anointing is much too strong, your light much too bright. They are infuriated as they arrive daily and have to endure yet another day of your positive peaceful energy. Isn't it more bearable to remain in darkness and snuff out the bright light that is shining on you every day? One you simply would work hard to get rid of instead of trying to emulate? Only a carnal minded person could answer this question truthfully.
•People you work with who have hang ups about how foolish they've lived their own lives, and people who are addicted to chaos will seek to stir the pot every chance they can get.
Let’s face it, they are truly miserable on the inside and dragging someone else down is the only relief they have for the moment. If the environment is too peaceful, they will find a way to cause chaos. They will create it and then sit back and watch others fight about what they've started. Remember this is their comfort zone. And if you are a peaceful person, they will most likely find a way to drag you into their mess.These people no matter what they do will never prosper and they are the ones who actually control the environment.
•Being attractive inside and out and having special gifts, accomplishments and talents is a blessing, but can feel like a curse. This is true for men and women.
An envious spirit is a very dangerous spirit. People who struggle with weight issues, self- forgiveness, and other self -esteem issues will have no difficulty harassing and making up lies on the person they are jealous of. If you are a person who takes care of your body, mind, and spirit as God commanded, then beware of envious spirits. Rebuke them in the name of Jesus, keep looking your best, hold your head up high, don’t be afraid to display your gifts and talents, and continue to walk like the blessing you are. Never down play the way you look, dress, or carry yourself because of jealous insecure people. God blessed you with everything you possess and does not want you to hide these gifts in fear of what others may do or say. Remain in faith.
•Be aware of those who run in cliques: The ones who pass by you with a smile on their face, yet their hearts are filled with hatred and betrayal.
They are like puppets on a string. Whoever doesn’t like you, they will no doubt, follow their lead. Be prepared. Don’t be surprised if everyone in this clique is suddenly turning their nose up and slighting you, or simply just not speaking to you anymore. While this is a very emotionally painful thing to have to endure, take heart in the fact that you are never alone. God sees it all and will step in to correct it in His time. Every one that mistreats you will have to answer to the almighty one day, and when their suffering comes, they will know why. How they treat you is between them and God. How you respond, is between you and God. Let God fight your battles. Remain in Faith.
•Minorities in the workplace: Spirit of Bias and Prejudice.
This is a very vicious spirit. My heart and soul truly goes out to you. As an African American female and Christian single parent, I know very well the pain, frustration, and heartache that come along with being in this position. There are multiple oppressions involved here. Unfortunately, the rules that apply to you, will not apply to others. This rings true for men and women. Discrimination in the workplace is a very difficult pill to swallow on a daily basis and is very much alive in the here and now. It can be a very blatant spirit or subtly masked.
Don’t fool yourself into believing that civil rights laws, although a blessing, will protect you against this manner of ignorance, and don’t allow these laws to convince you that everything will be well with your soul just because they exist. I guarantee that the minute you start to complain and exercise your civil rights; you will become a target, a mark if you will, and then given the pink slip as soon as possible. Minorities who remain quiet in the workplace are not weak- minded individuals; they are simply afraid of the consequences that come along with exercising their human rights. And most of them are on jobs for many years enduring the pain and putting up with unfairness of all kinds.
This entails ethnicity, religion, cultural differences, disabilities, and age discrimination. Don’t lose heart. God knew about it before you got there. Pray first, and then consult an attorney if you feel you've been discriminated against. And most of all do not fear them when they speak lies to cover the truth. Remember Satan is the father of lies. No one wants what is done in the dark to be uncovered, and you can bet that the company will do everything in their power to try and make you look like the bad person before they admit that they have harmed you.
2 Corinthians 11:14 King James Version (KJV) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
•Beware of the person who is “supporting” you. If you have a twinge of intuition beckoning you to not trust this person, you better listen. While I am in no way suggesting that everyone who presents themselves as “A Christian” is phony, I am urging you to be careful of chameleon spirits. They’re everywhere.
This is the employee who hides behind the bible as a means of spreading vicious gossip. You know, the one who checks up on you every once in a while to see if you’re okay. The one who is “praying against the injustices in the place” and has your back. The one who will probably, most likely, not be around when they walk you out the door. Be very careful of whom you divulge personal information to. These types of people are sent to you by the enemy of your soul to gather information they can use against you. And the longer you bond with them, the more ammunition you provide them with. As a believer, it is easier to trust someone who is speaking the same language you are of course, “The Christian.”
This person, you really need to be careful of. Ask God to reveal to your heart a spirit of discernment when dealing with others. You know them by their fruits. Best thing to do is smile, be polite, but keep your personal life and emotions to yourself. Find a true Christian on the outside you can vent to instead. Hard times is when you discover who your real friends truly are, and don’t be surprised if you don’t hear from the person who befriended you on the job. Just as you've completed your mission there, they have completed theirs with you as well.
~~~~ Sometimes the best gifts come wrapped in the ugliest packages. ~~~~
Ask yourself if it was God’s will for you to be there in the first place or were you driven by another reason that was not tied to your destiny.
•Instead of being angry, vengeful, and bitter, pray for the people who fired you. Pray that God will touch their hearts and lead them to Him.
•Forgive them. God will not release your blessings if you are holding a grudge towards the people who hurt you. While this is a very difficult choice to make, it is the will of God. Not only will your release your blessings, but you are no longer allowing what they did to dictate your attitude, change the sweetness in you, or determine your future.
•Never allow what others do to you to determine your self- worth. You are wonderfully and fearfully made and there is a season for everything.
•God always has a ram in the bush for his children. Again, what they meant for evil, God will turn around for your good. When one door closes, He will open another one. A better one. Remain in Faith.
•When it’s all said and done make sure you take good care of yourself. “The best revenge is success.” Just because they could not appreciate you and informed you it was your last day with the company does not mean that you should stop working. Remember who your real employer is, God. And, continue to work for Him in other ways even if it’s unpaid. Never allow what your enemies did to you, to stop your God driven purpose.
•Share your experience with others on the outside, like a therapist or someone who will help you stay on track and keep good notes.
•Keep a journal of the harassment including the person committing the offense, what was said, the date, time, hour, and how it made you feel. Include witnesses you know will confirm the truth.
•Record conversations, harassing voice mails, threats etc. While this may be inadmissible in court in some cases, your attorney would love to put a voice to the names, to strategize your defense.
•Pray, pray, and pray harder. When you’re reduced to nothing, God is always up to something. When things get hard, pray harder.
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from me, says the LORD.” Isaiah 54:17.
I know you may be hurting right now and the pain unbearable at times. However, dry your tears and cast all your cares upon God, for He truly cares. Now is not the time to doubt God’s power. Doubting gives the enemy ammunition to destroy what God intended for you. Every time Satan reminds you of what they did to you, raise your hands and praise God for the victory over your enemies, ask God to fight your battles, and continue to keep your mind on Him while He guides you to your next mission. Praise your way to your breakthrough. God deserves all the glory honor and praise in every situation no matter how painful, and believe me I have been there. God bless you as you claim the victory over all evil.
