“Never Alone” by Karen Pourbabaee
“Remember I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:20 (NAS)
The last words of Jesus on earth may indeed be the most powerful! They are a blessed assurance as we journey on earth. We who have chosen to follow Christ, have been delivered from the domain of darkness and enter into a new life in the kingdom of God. (Colossians 1:13)
But let’s face it. Though we spiritually reside in the kingdom of heaven, our physical bodies live in the kingdom of this world. The going can be rough and the travel sometimes treacherous. But herein lies the answer: He is present with us. Just as He promised at His ascension. Just as the psalmist decreed, “God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
His divine presence graces us with promises from the Word and here are just a few: Peace that passes all understanding and guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7). Protection, for He is a shield about us (Psalm 3:3). Perpetual joy (Psalm 16:11).
So let us keep a vision of His ascension and His promise of presence before us always. The gifts of His presence, peace, protection, and perpetual joy, will help to keep us on the path God has destined. As we navigate through the kingdom of this world, we are never alone.Karen lives in Oklahoma a wife, mother and nurse.
