Gems from: Faith, Mountain And The Seven Options

Ultimately, you are not at your best when your powerful punches send your opponent tumbling. Rather, you are at your best when you remain standing after having received a combination of the best punches from your enemy.
********
Scrutinize your options carefully. Some options offer fleeting relief but harbour lasting grief.
********
Patience is the condition of restfulness when circumstances call for restlessness.
********
Faith that represents genuine regeneration is that which doesn’t allow the mountains to get it off the course of the Cross.
********
In our prayers, we must allow God’s counsel to cancel our self-preoccupation; we must allow Him to talk us into His will more than we talk Him into our ‘whatsoever things we want.’
*********
One thing that is increasingly becoming unpopular is to be rigid with the posture that the Scripture is absolute in defining the truth and the falsehood; the right, and the wrong.
*********
Avoiding to declare the supremacy of Christ in matters of salvation may look circumstantially tactical but it would ultimately lead to a technical fallout with the Son of God.
********
Knowingly or unknowingly, we can’t afford to sacrifice the exclusivity of Christ’s divinity on the altars of ideological and theological populist relevance.
**********
Anxiety makes a pause look like a full-stop and a full-stop like an ultimate end. A period may put an end to a sentence in our life but it definitely doesn’t put an end to the story of our life.
********
In a moment of anxiety, the paradox of the relativity of the discrete comes to bear. For example, one minute is one minute, but it is ‘not one minute’ for someone awaiting rescue.
********
God wouldn’t tell us to be anxious about nothing if there isn’t anything to be anxious about.
*******
We can be on a waiting mode without allowing the waiting mood to catch up with us.
********
If we are controlled by the attitude of Christ, we’ll know that there are times when it is a weakness to win and a strength to lose.
*********
Faith that refuses to deviate is that which doesn’t satisfy itself with ‘a form of godliness’ but that which is in an ever-appreciating mode of being 'transformed into godliness.'
*********
There is no future in the past. Our destiny is ahead. Going back to where we have been delivered from is returning to our past, a sign that we have no future.
********
The most damaging deviations can be those motivated by good intentions.
*********
Turning to the left may mean that one has left the course of the Cross.
********
If we understand the cause of our relationship with Christ, the course of our walk with Him shouldn’t make us beat a retreat.
*********
Isn’t it baffling that we usually remember, with nostalgia, the 'delicacies of slavery' more than we remember, with adoration, the 'sacrifices of deliverance'?
*********
It is natural to expect things to happen instantly at our command, but remember that it is scriptural to wait as long as it takes to happen.
********
An authentic faith believes in the light even when it is surrounded by darkness; it doesn’t get darkened by darkness because it doesn’t play the camouflage game.
********
Paul was probably the most wanted by the devil, and he was well-known and hated by demons. The most wanted by Satan, is the most used by God.
**********
To be trained to appreciate the beauty of light, we need to have gone through the agony of darkness.
**********
God doesn’t keep us from our fears. He allows us to face them because He wants us to win over them.
********
Some people hide in order to keep the faith, others hide in order to distance themselves from the faith. There is a difference between hiding from faith and hiding in faith.
******
We conquer a mountain not by sending it fleeing but by having it under our feet. And having a mountain under our feet means we have climbed the mountain.
*******
God’s workings in Elijah’s life shows that victory is not won in secrecy, but in the open.
********
The most important thing about faith is not to get everything out of the way but to stop anything getting us out of the way of the Cross of Christ.
********
We are more than conquerors when the worst of the enemy brings out the best of God in us.
*******
The best way to be more than a conqueror in is to be able to stand the best punch from your opponent.
******
We conquer death through resurrection and resurrection means we have to die first.
*******
Abraham came to know God as the One on whose account all the expenses of lavish love are charged.
********
Unless we are extremely careful, mountaintop provides an 'outstanding' possibility to be toppled. We must not allow the mountaintop be our toppling point.
*******
The disciples’ sleepiness signifies the sloppiness that catches up with us when we get to the top.
********
When we misunderstand, misappropriate, privatize and personalize the favours we receive from God, our advantage becomes our disadvantage; strength becomes weakness; success becomes failure and the height of our rising becomes the depth of our fall.
********
That was Faith, Mountain And The Seven Options for you.
