The man who has direction, indeed, is truly blessed.
He sets his sight on one goal....omitting all the rest.
Not going out on tangents, or swayed by this or that;
Affected NOT by others, unchanged...and standing pat.
The man who's not established himself, at all in life,
Is subject to opinion, while embroiled in inner strife.
Affected by ideas, and temptations...and in doubt;
He's having trouble learning...just what life is all about.
Somewhere between direction absolute...and groping...lies
A limbo of ideas, that is known as 'compromise'...
Obsession with direction might be less than true ideal,
While the man who's always searching, feels that NOTHING here is REAL!
So...is compromise an evil thing...in each and every case?
Is 'give and take' an attitude...that absolutes erase?
Can a man 'give in' a little....and yet remain a MAN?
If right or wrong are not at stake....he very likely CAN.
