Our bodies are made of clay,
Yet we still hold the treasure;
As our lips and tongue say,
Of the Good News with pleasure.
Such superior power,
Treasure belonging to God;
Never gets old or sour,
Showing Him honor and laud.
It seems that we are troubled,
But we are not crushed by them;
Vexation would be doubled,
Have our faith condemn.
Frustrated but not give up,
Persecuted not abandoned;
Not drinking death from a cup,
For our hearts not hardened.
We carry the death of Christ,
Within us so that the life;
Just why He was sacrificed,
And the reason for the strife.
Death is at work within us,
But life is at work in you;
And waiting for that day thus,
For this life now to be through.
So we believe and we speak,
Our faith and same spirit;
On the Good News that we seek,
For what we do inherit.
