Words and the tongue
Sometimes we act out of love, when things do not go our way, or when other people hurt our feelings. Then we say hurtful things to strike back and hurt those people’s feelings the same way they hurt our feelings. The tongue is very power weapon. The tongue speaking words can be a cancer to our Christian souls if we let it control our lives. We should refrain ourselves from hurtful words, expressions and actions. We have to try and live by the model that Christ has set for us, when confronted with this kind of situation. Think then how Christ would have reacted in a similar situation. He did react with love and goodness in all situations. What better way to defeat your enemies by showing them love and kindness as to step down to their level of attack? When you step down to their level, you likely to become just like them.
We have to learn to act in love regardless if we are confronted with hate and bitterness or what negativity it may be. At the end of the day we will earn that respect of the person, because they will then realize that there is something better in us, and may be one day they will see that it is Christ that is in our hearts and in our lives. Then maybe they will also commit themselves to Christ. Let Christ dictate our words and actions and not tongues.
AVOID HURTFUL WORDS SPOKEN BY THE TONGUE; IT IS A CANCER TO THE CHRISTIAN SOUL!
