As I pondered my thoughts, while I played today
from within my fathers den
And as I peeped to see just where he's at
for if he saw me I'd be trouble right then
I knew in my heart I shouldn't be there
but temptation got the best of me
For his room is so large and looks so brand new
oh you just had to be there, you see
It's not like my room-that's cluttered with junk
and you barley can see the floor
He even has a chair, that lets you bounch-
through the air
and to me that is what it was for
God knows I'm a child of many adventures
I just have to try out new things
but I don't forget my prayers, to let him
know I care
for all his goodness on me he did spring
So as I tip toe, across the room, I glance at the
picture on the wall
It's my father's face, as I slip from yonder place
but, by gosh, he seems awfully tall
O' Father in heaven, how little do we know
just how precious a child's life can really be
I look all aroung to behold all your blessings
that you bestow on them and me
That cozy warm den that's peaceful and quiet
it's like the place I found in you
For when it's all noisy and disheveled outside
then I exit my little feet to a better view
I do hope my dad will truly understand
that the little ones have problems too
So when we need a special place to escape
there's no other place that will do
To just find a safe haven like dads homey den
to forget all the wears and cares
For life gets to childs heart, oh so quickly
so they need someone's shoulder to be there
To welcome them in the room of our hearts
and to give comfort to them today
And not hold to them, their many mistakes
but take time out and don't throw them away
