We spray our hair, to 'hide the gray'....
But time goes marching on.
We 'school' ourselves in 'what to say'....
Still time goes marching on.
We live our lives, we wiser grow....
We pride ourselves in what we 'know'....
We add more 'things' in our 'control'....
Yet time goes marching on!
When life has passed....ALL marches played,
ALL skirmishes been dealt with.
When shades of gray are LESS THAN TRITE....
Just something to be 'lived with;'
THEN...in the scope of what we've done
Will we be proud....or stricken dumb;
Can we be SURE.....we've REALLY WON?
Or has time just......MARCHED ON!
