Calvary

The sin of the world He took on the tree.
The tree that history calls Calvary!
Imagine this as humanity walked
in ignorant bliss. Pharisees and sinners
walked by and hissed, as the Son of God
hung listlessly on that glorious tree
called Calvary.

Have you ever stopped to wonder, what
would have happened ? Jesus hadn’t
become a curse on that tree called Calvary?

What a dark and foreboding eternity
Without the tree named Calvary!

The tree that bridged us eternally
from the kingdom of our blinded
darkness to the kingdom of
His eternal kindness

We forever owe
that to the life giving Savior
Who took the form of a man
to sacrifice His precious life
on the tree that everyone
knows as Calvary.

Eternity past finds us in the counsels of heaven
Father God gently asking “Who will go
for me to that cursed tree called Calvary?”

Jesus the Christ, the beloved Son;
boldly steps forward into The Father’s glory.
"I will go and be your perfect and sinless Lamb
on that very special tree that will be called Calvary.

The holy pages of the bible declare for us in
prophetic terms in the book of Isaiah,
that Jesus was the suffering servant
Who gave His blood on that old
wonderful tree that His Father
would call Calvary .

Calvary is known as Golgotha :
a hill near the holy city of
Jerusalem. Where Jesus
drew the lost and sinful
human race to Himself
on the unforgettable tree
called Calvary.

The serpent slithered down
that very first tree in place
we call the garden of Eden.
His one deceptive notion
was to steal the glory of God
from Adam and Eve.

He did by tricking Eve who ate the fruit
that looked so delightful .She gave to
Adam he too ate of the fruit.

The price was so costly it
marred the image of God
put into them at the first.

Do you think God was caught off? guard? I think not.
Remember what He said
in the beginning of the first book
called Genesis?
“My seed shall bruise your head
and you shall bruise His heel.”

What is He referring to we would ask?
Of course the seed that was foretold
so long ago.

Jesus Christ who died on that grand
old tree called Calvary!
