The Day of the Lord will quickly be at hand,
And sinners will hide: against Him none can stand.
The mighty shall cry and flee to each his cave,
But God will consume; from Him no man can save.
He sees men in sin and evíry evil plot;
He knows those turned back and those who seek Him not;
He hears all their lies and tongues which speak deceit;
They will feel His strength-- be crushed in swift defeat.
A day of great wrath of trouble and distress;
A day when the clouds are filled with thick darkness;
A day of alarm His trumpet then shall sound;
A day He prepared all guilty will be found.
But God brings again the people of His name,
And He gathers them so nations know His fame.
His people rejoice at His deliverance;
His people rejoice to be in His presence.
The Lord and our God turns back captivity;
Heís mighty to save and He sets his people free.
With joy and with song rejoices over those
Who rest in His love: the people that He chose.
