I love our many talks and today am pondering, “What truly matters in life?”
I hear the world news that another country is preparing a nuclear attack on us. That is almost expected. Thirst for power has always been an issue.
I hear sad stories about courts issuing removals of nativity sets or Christian fish symbols from public property. This reflects our nation’s present state. So do all the morality issues pushing through our legal system.
The strange part is I feel joyful living in times like this. I know you are in control and allowing this to happen. You give us freedom to chose and give us many opportunities to choose you. If we do not, that is our problem, not yours.
As I ponder, all that truly matters to me is the image of being in Heaven with you.
Nothing and no one will ever take you out of my heart, even if calamity hits and my heart is all that is left. Anyone who tries to convince me that you are not my savior, falls on my deaf ears.
I cannot wait to be with you full time, Jesus. On earth, life’s obligations need attending. In Heaven, I can devote every moment to you. I will have jobs that will forever contribute to your kingdom. I hope one of them is taking care of your animals!
My heart bursts with joy knowing that I will see you all the time, roaming around, smiling and loving us in ways I can only imagine. Each day will hold constant exploration and surprise, delighting me every moment.
The life you have given me is good and I thank you. I have come to understand that nothing on this earth is worth clinging to though.
My deep faith is your gift and nothing penetrates it. I continue to face any fears like we may be alienated and know that YOU are all that matters. Thank you for that wonderful realization. You said “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
