You came into this battered world
To set us captives free
Thank you Lord for all You did
For someone lost like me
The pain that no one else could bear
So tired and alone
You did just what You had to do
Then your Father called You home
I used to think of chocolate eggs
But I think of them no more
I think of what You came to do
And how you’re worth far more
You show me each and every day
A new way I can live
To love my neighbour as myself
And learn how to forgive
For as You lived and as You died
As You hung from that tree
You rose again in victory
For your love it set us free
Whenever I am burdened or feel lonely and afraid
I need only look to You Lord and the sacrifice You made
I know that when I see You and look into your face
This world will make more sense Lord
And things will be in place
Until that day is here Lord Your word is my direction
I know that I will see You in the time of resurrection.
