The first rays of sun streamed through my window, the pastel flowers on my new spring dress soaking them in. My fancy hat hanging above was covered with the light which poured down to my patent leather shoes causing them to shine even brighter. Easter morning never failed to swallow up the darkness of Fridaysí sorrowful road to the cross and raise me from my bed. I would then run to where I knew a basket of sweet delights awaited.
The first rays of sun stream through my window and I drink in their warmth as my soul the joys of Resurrection life. Iíve already risen from my bed, pushed aside the thick winter curtains, witnessing the light drive darkness away. Recollections of flowery dresses, patent leathers and chocolate bunnies are interwoven with those of loved ones sorely missed. More importantly, today reminds me death was swallowed up in victory and of a land awaiting me with far sweeter delights.
