She Realized...
A quiet Resurrection morn
just like the day that He was born.
No crowns or thrones
or circumstance
just Mary
and her inward dance.
She saw
two angels garbed
in white
noticing her Lord
had disappeared from sight.
She turned round
and saw
another man,
thinking it was
the gardner
at hand.
When He
simply spoke
her name
she knew,
He was the One
who removed
her shame.
Jesus said,
"Don't cling
but go,"
tell the disciples
I arose.
(This quote is author's paraphrase of John 20:17)
Do We Realize?
Joyful, resounding,
music we hear.
It seems
the same
every year.
White lilies
fill the room
with light,
yet where
is the intimacy
in this sight?
Do we notice
that Jesus is here
whispering softly
in our ear?
We cling
to our traditions,
our order...
Do we go
beyond our borders?
Tell others
why we sing?
Of Jesus our King;
and His sweet offering?
