Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow. John 18:27 New International Version.
Just a few hours earlier Peter was the valiant warrior willing to fight to the death for Jesus.
Now he is a timid scardy cat.
After Jesus was resurrected one morning He made a meal for His tired disciples after they had fished all night long and caught nothing.
Havenít we all had experiences like that? When challenged about Christianity donít we become like Peter and deny Him?
It is okay, we all go though it.
When I first went to China I was terrified because I thought they would throw me in jail when they learned I was a Christian. When asked if I was a Christian when I first got there I said no. Feeling ashamed I took it to Jesus and confessed my shame and promised even if it meant death I would not deny Him the next time. An occasion came along where the opportunity to share Jesus with them and I took it. After that many of the teachers loved to come and ask questions and listen about Jesus. Of course being a Christian is okay now in China and we had many very interesting conversations. I wonder how many of them came to Jesus because of those pleasant talks?
When we allow fear to overcome us and deny being Christians and later are sorry for it, like Peter was, it is okay to apologize to Jesus. He will forgive you.
Prayer: Thank you Jehovah Shalom (God of our peace) that You are so gracious to forgive us of our temporary weak moments when we deny You and repent of it later. I thank you in the name of He who forgave His disciples Jesus Christ. Amen.
May you be blessed with Gods divine love, peace and joy.
