How Do We Demonstrat The Love of God?
By: Ken Crowe

Love can be very hard when you come across someone who seems unlovable. They may say harsh words when they speak to you, or they may do something that hurts your feelings and you wonder how can I love this person?

Well the best news is if God can love you and me with all of our short comings and issues, we can ask him to help us love others in the same way. It will not always feel good because it will be a struggle to overcome our selfish nature, to automatically protect ourselves and to retaliate.

Demonstrate the love of God by showing kindness regardless of your situation. No one said that love will always be easy. We are not focusing on the easy to love people, but those seemingly unlovable people whom we run into time and again. Make a decision in your head and your heart that you will show that person the love of God through your kindness, regardless of their reaction. Do this often and you will begin to see the power of love in action. Slowly their cold barrier will start to melt away.

Another way to show the love of God is to be deliberate about loving other people in your actions and your words. Once you decide how you are going to do this, the actual acts of love will become easy and you will begin to feel the joy about how you are positively impacting others for Christ.

Being slow to anger is another demonstration of God`s love for others. There are times when you may be tired and not have any patience, but remember that God shows us mercy every day and we need to do the same for others.

Protect your relationships from the enemy by being willing to forgive others and really forget if another has offended and hurt you. This can be a challeng when someone close to you, has hurt you but you can forgive with Godís help. This not only shows Godís love for us, but it strengthens our connections with the love of Christ.

Show love by thinking of others before you start thinking of yourself. Jesus was the greatest example of this kind of love by giving his life for us on the cross for us. We need to die to ourselves everyday as a witness to the love of Jesus Christ on this earth.

Start trying to show the love of God to everyone you meet. Think of ways you can change someoneís life for the better, through an act of love. Love is powerful, give your love freely and often.
