When someone says they’re coming clean what does that normally mean? Well it most instances it usually involves someone divulging something that they’ve done or something that’s been done to them. But what does coming clean really mean in relation to Christ, our Lord and Savior?
For some people it means finally giving God complete access to a deep dark secret or a buried contusion. Then for others it might resemble asking for forgiveness for a sin deemed as unforgivable. Well for me coming clean at the throne meant permanently relinquishing the barb wires attached to an incident of childhood molestation. Funny how the words barb wires are so fitting!
As hard as it may be to believe God actually wants us to expose those sores of the soul and our dirty little enigmas to His very ear, even though He’s fully aware of them. Sounds strange-huh! Since God is omniscient why then would we need to fill Him in on something that He has prior knowledge of? The answer is a simple one. God wants to release us from the incidents that continue to keep us trapped (whether mentally, physically, emotionally and or spiritually) in order to help us grow in every way, which in turn will make us resemble Christ all the more (Ephesians 4:15) as seen in 2 Samuel 12 with King David.
Don’t ignore God’s beckoning or tugging at your heart’s strings because it’s His way of initiating LIBERTY from those internal pains caused by buried barb wire.
