Remember the popular television program of the 1990’s called “Dr. Quinn Medicine woman”? Recently, I viewed an episode, where at the end of the episode the camera zooms in on the two main characters in a photograph, Sully and Dr. Mike. They were arm and arm and surrounding them are a sea of faces. The old saying “a picture is worth a thousand words surely fits here. Sully and Dr. Mike had been dancing around each other on this particular episode. Sully just coming off the death of his beloved wife and Dr. Mike just plain old too scared to get involved in a serious romance.
Fear, their fleet footed dance partner kept them momentarily away from reaching their promised land of romantic rendezvous. Finally after waltzing with fear way too long they finally switched dancing partners and awakened to the reality that they were meant to spend a lifetime together.
Now the question is this: How many times have we found ourselves in this merry go round type of circumstance. The relationship is on! No it’s off again! We dance around each other knowing full well we are to spend the rest of our natural lives together. So dump fear, and take courage. Awaken to the facts that like Sully and Dr. Mike the person who you are really dancing with is the one you are to dance with for the rest of your life!
