Seasons

I look outside my frosted window
Autumn leaves begin to fall
The red potash tree signals
A new season is in store.

I think about the season gone
The heat of summer’s fare
That caused a sweat of uncomfortable-ness
And weakness caught unawares.

Coming through the summer’s drought
Caused me to find a drink
To quench my insecurity
It made me see and think.

The sowing rains now start to patter
On my head at a gentle rate
Breaking the soil, ready for seed
A new identity germinates.

I’m ready for winter & what it brings
the cold, the frost and the wind
unafraid of it’s frosty darts
cos of what’s been imparted within.
