2 Peter 3:1-18 Is One Of The Most Phenomenal Chapters In God's Holy Bible. Many Christian Religions Turn To This Chapter To Prove That God Will Destroy Planet Earth In Fire And Make New Heavens And Earth.
What Most Christians Are Not Aware Of Is That Jesus Christ Gave Paul "Secret Knowledge" Regarding This "Day Of The Lord". Paul Passed This Knowledge On To Peter And They Both Began Using "Coded" Words In Their Christian Letters To The Churches. These "Coded" Words Actually Pointed To God's Destruction Of Mosaic Law Keeping Priest And Those Who Chose Carnalism Above Obeying God.

2 Peter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in [both] which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 Peter 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Peter Immediately Reminds These Christians That Christians Should Obey Jesus' Commandments Given To The Apostles And Not The Law(s) Of Moses (John 15:10-15; John 13:33-35; 1 John 2:7-8; 2 John 1:5; Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 10:4; 2 Corinthians 3:1-17).
2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
Peter Is Referring To Religious Priests And Leaders As "Scoffers". If You Have Followed The Advisory And Prayerfully Studied The Suggested Above Information Then You Will Know That Such Bible Words As "Walking (Ruling, Presiding Over)" And Lust (Placing Carnal Desires Above Obeying Jesus) Refer To Christian Leaders And Christians Who Are Carnal Minded. Peter Also Uses The Word "Fathers" To Ensure Readers Knew He Was Talking About Mosaic Law Keepers.
Beginning Of The Creation- Jesus Is The First And Beginning Of All Things. He Has Preeminence In All Things (Colossians 1:18). God Planned To Create An Entire Spirit Family In Heaven Made From The Life, Death, Resurrection And Teachings (Commandments) Of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ Is The Chief Cornerstone Of God's Foundation (Matthew 22:20-44; Ephesians 1:4; Ephesians 2:20; 2 Timothy 2:19; Hebrews 1:10; 1 Peter 1:6, 20).
2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Prayerfully Read Genesis 1:1-10. You Will Notice That God Divided (Separated) Or Rapture Heaven Bound Water From Water Beneath (Under And/Or Around) The Earth. This Was Prophetic Concerning Those Who Rapture Into Heaven And Those Who Are Left Behind To Endure The Great Tribulation (John 2:1-19).
2 Peter 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
The "Old World" Perished- After Disobedient Christians Repent At The End Of The Great Tribulation God Will Accept Them Into His Kingdom And They Will Overflow Therein As Satan's Beastly Kingdom Is Finally "Overflowed" Into Destrution (Perdition) (Revelation 17:8-11; Daniel 11:40-44).
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

During The "Lord's Day (Day Of The Lord)" Those Who Rapture Into Heaven Enter Eternity. There Is No Time In Heaven. Heaven Is God's Immortal Glory (1 Corinthinas 15:30-54).
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God Is So Wonderful And Perfect. His Mercies Are Matchless. God Would Patiently Wait Another Thousand Years To Save Just One God Obeying Person From Hell's Condemnation. So Many Christians Are Ready To Rapture But They Must Remember God Is Good And God Is Merciful. Such Christians Should Prayerfully Read The Entire Book Of Jonah.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Before We Get Better Understanding Of This Verse Let's Also Prayerfully Review 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
1 Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober. 2 Peter 3:11 [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness, 2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Thief- Jesus' Rapture Will Occur Instantly In A Moment Of Time And In The
Blink Of An Eye. God Will Rapture And "Steal (Catch Away)" Bible Obeying Subjects Of Phraoh's Beastly Dragon Kingdom (1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17; Ezekiel 29:3; Revelation 13:1-18; Revelation 12:1-17).
Night-Darkness- The Mosaic Law Consisted Of "Works". "Works" Can Not Gain You Or I Entrance Into Heaven. God's Amazing Grace Grants Us Entrance Into Heaven. God Gave The Laws Of Moses (Ordinances) In Darkness (Death, Hell, Hades). Jesus Came As Light To Fulfill The Law And End It. Those Who Attempt To Keep The Law Are Enemies Of Jesus Christ And His Cross And God Will Burn Such Enemies Away (Ephesians 2:5-8; Exodus 19:9-17; Deuteronomy 5:1-33; Matthew 5:17-18; Romans 10:4; 1 John 1:1-5; 2 Corinthianns 3:1-17; Revelation 17:1-16).
Woman With Child- Yes! The Heavenly Rapture Occurs The Same Time The Pharaoh Beast Is Struck With His Head Wound The Same Time These Law Keeping (Observing) Priests Proclaim "Peace And Safety". This Woman With Child Is The Rapture Birth Of God's Kingdom In Heaven (Revelation 12:1-17).
Peace And Saftey- Ironically The Man Whom Many Feel Is The AntiChrist Will Enter Jerusalem Around The Same "Season (1 Thessalonians 5:1)" That Jesus Did Before Jesus Was Crucified. This "Beast Candidate" Is Visting Israel/Jerusalem To Hopefully Obtain "Peace And Safety".
Now Let's Return To 2 Peter 3:10
When These Mosiac Law Observing Priests Proclaim "Peace And Safety" God Will Send "Elijah's" Fire To Destroy Them. This Will BeThe Start Of The Day Of The Lord. This Will Also Be The Beast's Head Wound And The Start Of Earth's Great Tribulation. These Priests Have Rejected Jesus And Disobeyed God. There Is No Peace For Their Wickedness. If You Read The Gospels Of Jesus's Crucifixion The Priest Blaphemed Him Until He Called Eli. After The Calling Of "Eli (Whom The People Thought Was Elijah" The Priests Never Spoke Again. It Will Not Be The Prophet Elijah That Burns These Rebellious Law Observers. It Will Be Eli The Father Sending His Fire Upon These Priests. (Ezekiel 13:16; Jeremiah 14:19; Jeremiah 8:11; Job 1:12-20-Notice How Job Ripped (Rent) His Priestly Mantle After The Fiery Destruction; 1 Kings 18:1-46; Revelation 17:1-16; Matthew 17:1-15; Matthew 27:38-Thieves-"Thief In The Night"; Matthew 27:38-54; Mark 15:29-39; Matthew 24:15-22).
And The Works Shall Burn Therein- During This Fiery Great Tribulation God Will Utterly Destroy The Mosaic Law (Keepers), Priests And Servants Who Obey Their Flesh Above God. The "Works Of The Law" And The "Works Of The Flesh" Will Be Totally Burned (Purged) Away By God's Coming "Elijah" Fire (Malachi 4:1-6; Matthew 3:9-12).
It Is These "Things" That Are To Be Burned Up And Dissolved By God. 2 Peter 3:7-12 Is Referring To God's Fiery Judgment And Destruction Upon This "Babylon" Not The Entire Planet Earth (1 Peter 5:13; Revelation 17:1-16; Isaiah 48:12-22; Ecclesiastes 1:4).
Holy Conversation And Godliness-This Is The Speaking, Preaching And Testimony About Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:11; Matthew 28:18-20).
So Let's Re Iterate What 2 Peter 3 And 1 Thessalonians 5 Teaches About The "Day Of The Lord"
1) Law Keeping Priest Will Claim "Peace And Security"
2) King Of Fierce Countenance Will Destroy Many With Peace (Daniel 8:23-25)
3) Beast Will Suffer A Head Wound (Revelation 13:1-18)
4) The Rapture/Great Tribulation Will Begin At The Beast's Head Wound-Please Review This Bible Based Information At The Faithwriter's Website. We Are Not Able To Include It In This Already Lengthy Study Of 2 Peter 3.
5) As Soon As "Peace And Safety" And The Beast's Head Wound Occurs God's Fiery Destruction Shall Attack Them ( 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17; Revelation 13:1-18)
6) The Abomination Of Desolation Will Stand In The Holy Place As God Commands His Followers To Flee To The Mountians (Of God-Rapture) (Hebrews 12:22; Galatians 4:24-26; Isaiah 2:1-4; Matthew 17:1-15; Matthew 24:15-22).
The Common Elements To God's Fire Bringing In The Great Tribulation Is The Beast Meeting With Law Keeping Priests In The Holy Place To Proclaim "Peace And Safety".
Keep In Mind That Jesus Gave This Prophecy Directly After He Left Jerusalem's Temple And Prophecized About Its Destruction. Prayerfully Read Matthew 23:1-39 And Matthew 24:1-22 For Further Background.
Thus It Appears That All This "Day Of The Lord", "Rapture", "Head Wound" And "Great Tribulation" Will Surround Jerusalem (Luke 21:20-24).
2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Peter 3:15 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 2 Peter 3:16 As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
In These Verse Peter Admits That He Got This Knowledge From The Apostle Paul. In 2 Corinthians 12:1-14 Paul Goes On To Tell Us That He Got "Secret Knowlege (Revelations)" From Jesus Concerning The Destruction Of The Law And The Law Keepers. It Was "UnLawful" For Paul To Speak That God's Grace Sufficiently "Ended" The Law(s) Of Moses. Bishop James, Israeli Believers In Jesus And Israeli Non Believers In Jesus All Persecuted Anyone Who Attempt To "Replace" The Law With Jesus's Grace. Thus Paul Often Condemned These "Law Keepers" With Coded Words And Paul Wrote Many Christian Testaments Without Assigning His Name To Them (James 1:1-13-24; Galatians 4:19-31; 2 Corinthians 12:1-14; Acts 15:1-34; Romans 10:4; 2 Corinthians 3:1-17).
2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Once Again Peter Warned Christians To Shun All Aspect Of The Error (Law(s) Of Moses) And Grow In The Grace Of Jesus (God) (Ephesians 2:5-8; Romans 10:4; 2 Corinthians 12:1-7; 2 Corinthians 3:1-17).
Christians Be Sure That You Are Not Acting As The Condemned Priests Acted. Be Sure You Are Not Dressing Or Officiating As A Priest And Taking Christ Like Titles For Yourself (Matthew 23:1-39; Luke 20:46).
Christians Be Sure That You Are Not Keeping Or Honoring Any Aspect(s) Of The Mosaic Law(s) Which Includes Its "Holy Days" (Colossians 2:16).
