2 Kings 13:21
So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.
I want to tell somebody reading this message today that there is an answer from God for your question. The Lord says to tell you that the answer is yes! He says to tell you that “it can still happen!" This is the word of the Lord and I decree and declare that even though the world has written you off, God is re-writing your story. You can still make it! It is still possible. Beloved the season of restoration is around the corner. I prophesy transformation in all you set your hands to do.
We serve a very big God and there is nothing too hard for Him to do!
I don’t know what your situation or your problem or dilemma is today but I can tell you this - 'God is bigger than that'. He is still the God of miracles. He’s the unchanging changer, the God of release! The God of signs and wonders! Our Deliverer, our Healer! There is nothing He’s not capable of doing for you. I’ve asked to give you hope. You may be at the verge of giving up! Beloved, don’t be down casted. Never give up hope because with God all things are possible.
He can turn a Red Sea into a super highway.
He can cause water to flow out of a rock like a river.
He can open blind eyes and deaf ears, make the lame to walk, restore missing body parts.
He can burn cancer out of your body.
He can raise the dead, walk on water, calm the storm, feed the multitude with a sack lunch.
He can save the drug addict deliver them and set them free, and fill them with the Holy Ghost in one step.
He can heal broken hearts, restore marriages and put families back together again.
I just want to remind you that God can do anything. Don’t give up yet because it can still happen. Speak to yourself and declare: – ‘I’ve decided to try again!’
2 Kings 13:21 says that a man was being buried. The man that was being buried must be a dead man. His death brought sorrow to the relations. While they were burying the man a band of raiders came around the corner. They were afraid and never wanted to see a second death. Have you ever been in a difficult situation and while you think you’re about to put it away, another problem begins to brew? This was the situation of the relations of the dead man. They were just about to bury the man and it would become history but another bad situation was almost coming up. Being a dead man about to be buried, the relations thought it was all over. He cannot come back to life except on the resurrection morning. May be the man had a wife who has given up all hopes and accepted her fate as a widow. May be the man had some children who have accepted the inevitable fact that they are now fatherless. Who knows what was going on in the minds of all these people – it’s all over! The man that brings happiness to the family is gone! The person that brings money for the home mortgage is gone! All the good things associated with the man are gone. But little did they know it can happen again! ‘Be careful what you confess as gone because it can happen again!’
While they were carrying the dead man to be buried, heaven was making another arrangement to bring the man back to life. While he was dead, people around were saying all the good things associated with the man cannot happen again. But heaven was saying it can still happen. Beloved! I don’t know whom I’m talking to today but I know I’m talking to someone right now who knows exactly what I’m talking about, you have personally experienced something in your own life that has caused a brokenness, a separation and has brought disorder and pain into your life and it has left you hurt and confused. I know most of us walk into the church on days of worship looking good, smelling good, with smile on our faces, but the truth is somebody within the congregation is hurting, somebody reading this message is smiling on the outside but you are crying on the inside. Are you suffering from a broken heart? Have you lost the moisture of life? Has the joy of living gone and you are just going through the motions. The joy of living seems to have vanished. You have been asking yourself’ “Can those good experiences I had before happen again?” God sent me today to encourage you beloved. He said to tell you ‘It can still happen again’.
Satan is adding more problems and it seems you are going from frying pan to fire. Never mind my dear, the fire was permitted by God just for your come back because He wants it to happen again. The people burying the dead man may have completed the burial and that would have been the end of the story had the band of raiders never showed up. The appearance of the raiders caused the body of the dead man to be cast into the tomb of Elisha. While the body was dropped inside the tomb of Elisha, the dead bones of Elisha touched him and he came back to life!
The dead body touched the bones of Elisha and he got revived! Brethren, it’s about a touch! All you need is a touch from God. When God touches you, change. May be right now, your marriage is heading to the rocks, ask God to touch it! Your health is not what you want because of the physician’s report, ask God to touch it! Has the fire of God gone out of you that you can’t even pray again? You need His touch! They turned down your application for that job? Let God touch it! Somebody shout – “God I need your touch!”
If you want to know what a touch can do ask the woman with the issue of blood.
(Mark 5:25-34). 25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” 31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” 32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
This woman was very normal before now. She spent everything she had but still got worse until she got a touch. While visiting the various hospitals she never know that her body could get to normal again. Beloved, it can still happen. Her family may have abandoned her but it happened for her because God never abandoned her. It can still happen! I don’t care how old you are but when a man has been touched by God, he comes running after you and all he sees is a queen. It can still happen! You see, that womb can still bear babies irrespective of what they have said. It can still happen!
In Luke 7:11-15, Jesus touched the coffin of a dead man and he came back to life. Just a touch! It can still happen!
