Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. For the LORD your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly. Deuteronomy 25:13-16 New International Version
Have you ever heard of the saying:” beware of strangers bringing gifts”?
Do you understand its meaning?
It means look out when someone comes to you promising to do something for you out of the goodness of their heart. Almost always there is a catch involved and you end up paying more than you receive.
The two weights were used to weigh say a pound of tomatoes on a scale. The seller would put a lighter stone on the one end so you paid more and got cheated. That angers God.
When God says He detests it, it means He hates it. When someone angers God, they can expect to be punished. From my experience the cheaters get cheated for three times the amount they ripped you off at some time and it hurts them bad.
I had one instance where someone invited me to lunch at MacDonald’s. When the lunch was almost finished they mentioned they wanted me to proof read some of their work (read it and correct mistakes). To do so would have taken me over three hours. At the rate of pay going here that would have cost them about fifty dollars. When I mentioned I did not have time they threw it into my face I did something for you now you owe me. You must do this for me because I did something for you. So they buy me a four dollar meal and expect fifty dollars worth of work in exchange.
THAT is double scales.
That is deceiving, manipulating, stealing and dishonest.
Beware, what goes around comes around.
When you cheat someone, it will come back on you and you will be cheated even worse.
Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (God is present) please always be present in my heart will all I say and do to be honest with others. I ask this in the name of He who cleared the buyers and sellers from the temple Jesus Christ. Amen.
May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
