Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. — Proverbs 22:6 New International Version
This is why it is important to take time every day to read a devotional with your children at a very young age. Talk with them. Ask them questions and listen to their answers. Let them feel comfortable asking you questions. This is why it is important to say grace at meals, to say prayers before bed.
It will be ingrained in them and they will carry it with them all their lives.
The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher. Luke 6:40 New International Version
Have you ever heard it said “The apple does not fall far from the tree.”
Well, you are the tree and your child it the apple.
If you want your children to grow up to be Godly adults, you must lead by example.
Children learn much more from watching than they do from listening.
That includes the bad.
Let’s say you have a short temper and you explode with your child. It is important to teach them that you apologize and work hard at controlling their temper.
We all have our bad habits and many are inherited genetically from parents.
It is important for them to see how you deal with your negative traits.
That is why it is equally important for you to be in Bible study groups and have Christian friend who will help you deal with them.
Prayer: Please Jesus Rabbi (Jesus our teacher) teach me to be a fantastic teacher like you were with your disciples. I ask in your astute name. Amen.
May the sweet sunshine of Jesus' precious love bless you today and every day.
