What Have We Allowed To Come In
What Have We Allowed To Come In
We the people of God are accountable for much more than we realize. We have allowed things to come into our hearts, into our homes, into the church, and into the lives of others that we could have stopped.
Lamentations 4:12-16 the kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem. For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her. They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments. They cried unto them. Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not; when they fled away and wandered, tey said among the heathen. They shall no more sojourn there. The anger of the Lord hath divided them; he will no more regard them; they respected not the persons of the priests, they favored not the elders.
Psalms 1:1 blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, not sitteth in the seat of the scornful
Accountable means we take responsibility for some act or action, acknowledge the right or wrong of a thing, recognize the spirit operating and cast it down, favor right over wrong, value or take under advisement the soul of man as God has, make allowances for God to be God in our life in every area when called for and keeping in mind that we have to give an answer to God.
Many times we say this is our life and I donít have to answer to no one for my actions. Well guess what we are responsible for our actions and how they affect mankind where God is concerned. We are to be careful of our walk before the Lord and mankind. David wrote to reach the deep springs of the heart. He tried to teach us that head knowledge is not enough; the heart must be touched by Godís redeeming grace. David said that God did not deal with us according to our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. If God did Hell would overflow and Heaven would be deprived of Godís very Creation; manís spirit he put in the man he made that he breathed upon making man a living soul. The soul is the very breath of man; how important is that breath? That part of man is his spirituality, not natural or physical. Spirituality is the indwelling of Godís Spirit. The source of spiritual gifts is Godís grace and the agency of operation He employs is the Holy Spirit. Spirituality insures one of the strength to overcome the corrupting influences of carnal mindedness. We are accountable for how we carry the Spirit that gave us life around.
Blessed is the man that walks upright before the Lord; honorable, straightforward and honest. We must be sincere in our relationship with God, not twisted and swerving in our minds. We must walk and line up with the Word and follow the Spiritís leading in our life steadfastly with stability and perseverance in our decision to take Jesus as Lord of our lives. What we allow to come into our lives is in most instances partially because we will not accept Christ in his fullness to abide in our lives. We are unlearned of who He is and his purpose for coming and will not avail ourselves to gain the knowledge needed to keep things from overtaking us in this world. There were many unlearned men in Jesus day too but we donít have to named among them for knowledge is here for us. We are accountable to acquire the knowledge we need to keep things out of our life that is detrimental to the Spirit where He will not dwell as God intended. We are inexcusable for ignorance concerning Christ. We are not as those that know not God that ask foolish and unlearned questions as a means not to submit to the Word of God. We are not to be unstable in our stand or unprofitable in our walk. The ungodly watches us to see if we be of Christ or not. We are the servants of righteousness and light. Our lives stick out as a lighted candle.
We let things come into our lives because we donít believe as we should. Are we any better than those that doubt and donít believe? We ask God to help our unbelief but do we change? Paul said in Hebrews 3:12 that we have evil hearts of unbelief and this is to believers. Is our hearts any cleaner than the unclean that is not concern with having clean hearts and lives? What have we allowed to come in our lives? Jesus has given us the victory over death, he swallowed it up and he defeated the enemy of our souls. He brought back the glory to the Father once again. We are vexed on every side because we allow Satan to trouble us and make us angry. He vexes our souls where we allow things to come in and cause our hearts to faint.
